This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi was called to order bX the ."ayor at 8.05 o'clock on the
date first above written,councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele,
.e.ihe and Spooner presen. none absent.
?he minutes of the last regular meeting held :ebruary 2nd,
1931 were read, aosroved as read and so endorsed by the Jsayor.
Several salesr en.being present, the '.:a or announced that
the nater of the purchase of fire hose mould be left with the
Chief of the Fire Department to consult with the City Clerk.
Letters eu'cmitting, prices on painting for the Municipal
Baths from liCKee 3:Kropp, J.L. Pickering and C..Smith were
referred to the Cameittee on Parks with full power to act.
Yr ..G.Stephen called the attention of the Council to
the condition of the alley in Block 10, Lodi and the Street
Superintendent was directed to remedy the cause of complaint.
The Secretary of Lodi Volunteer Fire Departc:ent,by letter,
thanked the City Council for its cooperation in the Mater of
the annual meeting of the De_:artrrent.
Two bulletins from the League of California Municipal-
ities asking the City Council's end.orsenent of Senate Bills
Los. 126 and 386 nau pending in the State Legislature were
received and read and l on motion of Councilman Steele, :%eihe
second, the Clerk was directed to notify the Senator and the
Assembly ran from this District that the City of Lodi favored
the adoption of both measures.
=':^.e Clerk addressed the City Council .in the matter of
the existing City Planning Commission stating that the Commis-
sion should be either rade an active body or eliminated from
ehe City's records. This was referred to the City Attorney
with instructions that he prepare an ordinance dis-establishing
such a commission.
The Clerk was authorized to purchase an elecric vacuum
cleaner for use in the City mall.
Glenn .,`est made an oral report on the present status
of the Cherokee Lane paving, having talked with Supervisor
Stickenbruck; statim that it seemed very possible that an
asphaltic conc_'ete paving cit be laid on each side of the
states ,job at the ex ense of the County_. .several p rooerty
o'.;y?ers tieing present, this proposition was referred to them
so that they ciyht obtain the consensus of opinion of the
persons to oe a_fested and report back to to Council.

Cn ae plication of Central California State Lase Ball
League, use of the City grounds in Lawrence Park was granted
for :ran six to ten days auring the baseball season and suf-
ficient burlap and pipe standards to enclose the ball park
ordered purchased.
Bills in thea ount of $3,288,52 as anroved by the
Finance Cor.^.:::ittee were ordered paid; motion ":eihe, Roach.
At 9.58 o'clock ?.',_. the City Council adjourned until
the day and hour of its next regular meeti
