The minutes of the last regular meeting held January 5, 1931 were read, ac -proved as read and so endorsed by the 3iTayor. No persons appearing, the order of -ublic Hearings was passed and the Council proceeded to bear communications and reports. "he�?uarterly Report of the City Clerk and the Quarterly Report of the City Treasurer both covering thequarter ended December 31, 1930 Were received,read and ordered filed. fir John A. Henning filed a written reoort in the matter of the erection of a street light at the intersection of Vire and Garfield Streets as petitioned for by A.Lutz. On motion --dulyy put, seconded and carried, Lr Senning was instructed to install the light in accordance with his alternate estimate at a cost of approximately $50.00. On motion of Councilman Steele, leihe second, the Clerk -ryas directed to have hand -rails installed at the front ent- rance of the City Hall. Bilis in the amount of $2,940.01 as approved by the Finance Corr::ittee were alloyed and ordered paid on motion of Councilman .lei.he, Roach second. :.r Glenn .lest, Cit Attorney made an oral reoort on matters affecting the Cry's properties in Amador County and he was authorized to join Colorado Rower Company in a suit against Atkinson Construction Company for damages sustained by the operation of its gravel conveyors across these lands by the adoption of Resolution No. 626 by unanimous vote of all members of the Cit Council. It appearing Mta :Nast Bay:iunicipal Utility District had applied to the Federal Rower Ccm?iission forrmission to construct its proposed Middle Bar Dam, the City Attorney :ras directed to protest against the issuance of the permit as affecting the raters of the w'okelumne River by the passage of : R'S..LUIION NO. 627. 11, MEAS, in compliance with Section 4 (e) of the Federal tater Foyer Act (al 3Lat.1063) 3ast Bay �1`anicippal Utility District has aio-�lied for a preliminary permit for a poorer pro ect on Yoke�umne River approximately between a point in aection 33,T6,N R12 E and a point in Section 16,T5N,R17E, I. M.D.B.& f.. ARD WTE-'R3AS in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Ledi,State of California the granting of such permit and any consequent manipulation of the waters of the Klokel- trare River would seriously impair the flow of said river and would thereby seriously affect the water table underlying the City of Lodi, vrhic'r_ .rater table is fed by the waters of said Mokelumne River and from which grater table the said City of Lodi pumps its .,rater supply for the purpose of sup plyin�- water to the inhabitants of said City of Lodi through its muricirall.x owned water s stem; 'C;l .1. I=FORE, 3E IT I— BY R✓SOLV.,D, that said City of Lodi protests the granting of said permit and that the City Attorne of the Dity of Lodi is hereby directed to file with andpresent to the Federal Power Commission a protest against the granting of said permit, and proper evidence, briefs and arg=ents in support of such protest. The foregoinngg Resolution No. 627 was then passed and adopted by the follcning vote: - MS: Councilmen Steele, Roach, Keagle, :leihe and Spooner. NOMCouncilmen, None.
