This remular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi was called to order o= the Mayor at 8 o'clock P.M. on the
date first above written Councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele,
7eihe and Spooner present, none absent.
T he minutes of the last regular meeting held i:ovember
3rd.,1930 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the
Mayor.
No persons appearing at this time, the order of Public
Hearings was passed and the Council proceeded to hear the
reading of Corm~unications and Reports.
A letter signed by lir Geo. C. Pardee, President, was
received, read and ordered answered by the is or in the name
of the CityCouncil, the same being in reply to the offer
of this Ciy as contained in Resolution No. 622, adopted
October 20th.
Bulletin Pio. 13 of the League of California Municipal-
ities relating to the unemployment problem was received and
ordered filed.
The Clerk reported that the United States Geological
Survey contemplated the establishment of a standard evapor-
ation station and desired that the City allocate sufficient
space for the same and share in the cost to the extent of
erecting a fence surrounding the plot, the government to
supply all instruments. Cn motion duly put and carried, the
request of the Survey was ordered granted and sufficient
space allowed in Lawrence =ark.
Four building permits agregating $650.00 were granted.
On motion of Councilman 7eihe, Ke le second, it was
moved that Section 4 of Crdinance No. 164 be so amended that
the_fee for turning on water and electricity would amount to
$1.00 for both services.
In the ratter of the disposal of storm waters at the
,function of Central Avenue and Poplar Street, Mr J.A.Henning,
auperintendent of Public utilities submitted an oral report
and a diagram showing the elevations in adjacent territory
whereby it was evident that a,oroxinnately 75o of the water
came from lands outside the City. The City Clerk was dir-
ected to see Supervisor J.T.Stuckenbruck regarding'co-oper-
ation by San Joaquin County in solving the problem.
Inspector 3.B.Steyer of San Joaquin Local Health District
addressed the Council regardinc continuance of the'fartin
Camra "round on Lockeford Street, also, he desired some finan-
cial aid in draining the pool formed at the discharge end of
the Sacramento Street storm drain North of the .vinery. Cn
motion of Councilman ::eihe, Roach second, the sum of 875.00
was ordered made available out of the Mosquito Control funds
in the annual budget.
Bills in the amount of $2,235.06 being for semi-monthly
payrolls, were allowed on motion of Councilman ;,eine, Roach
second.
