The :minutes of the re;zzlar meeting of Septe4 ber 15th. , were read, approved as real and so endorsed by the -Wayor. The Clerk read a letter from Lodi Volunteer Fire Depart- ment stating that the department had held a special meeting on 'e-pte:bie 19th.,1930 with twenty-four members present and thereat had decided that t_^_e department reca,.Tnend'to the City Council the follo,vir.gg appointments :- "sIr Geonze D.�Polenske to be appointed Chief of the Fire Department; r Ha�..thew H. Rodacker"to be First Assistant Chief and Kr Y:.R.Channell to be Second Assistant Chief and 1'essrs Albert Peters and Ir Earl 2 -Tay to be Firelarshal and Deputy Fire I arshal respectively. The following resolution .gas then introduced and adopted by .nanimous vote : - R SOM]T ION NO. 621 7IIREAS, Lodi Volunteer Fire Department has submitted its recommendations that this City Council make certain appoint- ments in the City Fire DenariEent to -wit, to the :positions of Chief of the Fire Depar�ent, two assistant chiefs and a fire marshal and a deputy fire marshal; AND :'E -REAS, this 'City Council desires to conform to the desires of the Volunteer Fire Department : ITC;y TH3,EFOR3, BE IT RESCLV) that °ar George D. Polenske be and he is hereby a poir_ted Chiu` of the City " re Department for a -period beginning October lst.,1930 and ending July 31, 1931 aL a salary of $40.00 Monthly the same to be in full for all services rendered as such Chiu' of the Fire Department ; BE IT KMIU cR RESOLVED, that `,:atthe•.v H. Ordinance No. 179 entitled, An Ordinance Amending Section 2 and Section 3 of Ordinance Mo. 167 and Relating to the Payment of City Taxes" having been regularly introduced on September 15th.,1930 was brought up for final passage and adoption and was finally passed and ordered to print by the following vote; ANN): Councilmen Jeihe, Roach Keagle,Steele & Spooner NOES: CounciLmen,None.
