HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 15, 1930400;, Council Chambers -City Council City Hall -City of Lodi .onday,September 15,1930 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order at 8.04 o'clock P.M. on the date first hereinabove written, Councilmen :.Cable, Roach, Steele, :feihe and Spooner present, -none absent. The minutes of the re=ular meeting of September 2nd. were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. The order of ?ublic Hearings was passed and the Council proceeded to hear communications and reports : A letter from the President of the League of California Municipalities advocating the establishment of a permanent organization to deal in matters before the State Railroad Commission was read, also the call for the next ann.:al meet- ing of the League to be held in Long Beach beginning Oct - .ober 6th. ,1930. On motion duly made and seconded, the City Clerk was appointed a delegate to the convention. Ordinance No. 179, " An Ordinance Amending Section 2 and Section 3 of Ordinance Ho. 167 and Relating to the Pay- ment of City Taxes" was introduced on motion of Councilman Steele, aeihe second, and by the same.motion laid over for t the statutory period of not less than five days. Ordinance No. 180, " An Ordinance Amending 'Schedule 'A" of Section 3 of ' An Ordinance Repealing Certain Ord- inances and ?arts of Ordinances and Establishing Rates for the sale of Electric Energy by the City of Lodi " was introduced on motion of Councilman Steele, Roach second and by the same motion laid over for the statutory period of not less than five days. Two building permits for structures to cost $6,250.00 were ordered granted. Ccuncilnman .feihe -spoke concerning; closing the present graveled :calk in the rear of the City Hall running runningto Pleas - and Avenue but it :was decided that the matter had -better wait until the location of benches could be decided. Councilman Steele suggested that the City Clerk com- municate with the City Attorney regarding action to be taken to prevent re -occurrence of camp -ground difficulties and it was so ordered. :fter a recess to consult with members of Lodi Volun- teer Fire Department, the CityCouncil adjourned to and until 8 o'clock P.. of Monday, Sepember 22nd. ,1930. 11-77 City Clerk.
