This regular meeting of the -City Council of the City
of Lodi was cal. led to order at 8.03 o clock P 'I. on the
date first above written, Councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele,
and Spooner present.
The -irutes of the last regular nesting held July
17th. ,1930 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by
the Mayor, during the reading of the minutes, Councilman
Jleihe appeared and took his seat in the Council.
1r. Jilliam Riseden, Division Engineer of the South-
ern Pacific Company filed an ap_olication on behalf of his
company for permission to lay "railroad tracks across Pine
and Oak Streets about one hundred twenty-five feet west of
Main Street as more fully set forth in the application.
On motion of Councilman Yeihe Roach second, Ordinance

ACROSS C _ 1'AIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF LODI IN THE LOCATIONS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED" was introduced and by the same motimn
laid over for the statutory period of not less than five
days.
An estimate for the revaluation of the taxable value
of im-orovements of the -City was submitted, same to cost
in.the neighborhood of $2 500.00.
the City Merl: and the City Treasurer each filed their
reoorts of financial transactions of the City for the quarter
ended June 30, 1930 and the same were read and ordered filed.
Robert A. Iurphy applied for a position as truck
driver in the Fire Depar bent.
-he salary of Frank Buell truck driver in the fire
department .;gas changed from $126.00 to $150.00 monthly as
he -had vacated the rooms at 'aple Square.
The Clerk reported that 19r Robert M. Searls had
requested that the -Council meet with En ineers Dailey,
Means and �_`tchiverry in regard to progress and future action
in the City's percolating mater cases, preferrably on July
lath.
?he Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the
purchase of waste sludge from the Sevrage Disposal Plant.
Bills in the amount of $2,877.30 as approved by the
Finance Com ittee were alloyed and ordered paid on motion
of Councilman ::e}he Roach second, the same comprising
pay roll claims �lll to #14450 inc.
The sale of the old 'horse drawn sweeper was confirmed
and the Clerk directed to ship same to Jenison11achinery
Company at San Francisco.-_
T-il7o building permits were granted totalling $2600.00;
application_ for permit #885 was witheld for further invest-
itat l on .
1 -Ir John d. Hieb having refused to enter into a contract
for the erection of a canf ort house in Laavrence Park as
w.raxded him June 16th.,1930 by Resolution No.615, the City
Attorney was directed to draw up a resolution rescinding
the resolution of arard and tendering the contract to the
next lowest bidder at the Drice named in his bid.
On motion of Council*an 7eihe, Roach second, the
City Council adjourned to ;.onady, July 28th. ,1930 at the
hour of 8 o'clock P 11.ard after ad'ourment resolved itself
into Corrmi ;tee of the iFhole to meei with members of the
Volunteer Fire Department.
