This realar meeting of the City Council of the City
of Lodi was called to order at 8.04 o'clock on the date
first above written, Councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele, ,reihe,
and Spooner present, none absent.
-The minutes of the last regular meeting held June 2nd
were read approved as read and so endorsed by the_:ayor.-

ouie T. Eason appeared before the City Council in
advocation of the purchase of the "Smith Lake" property by
the -City for use as a Public park offering the 56 acres
therein for the price of $15,000. He also submitted a sketch
of the property.+The matter was referred to Committee of the
Whole by the Mayor.
Tnis being the date set for the reception of sealed
proposals for the annual advertising of the City, the Clerk
announced that two proposals in proper fore had been received,
one from the publishers of the LodiSentinel, the other from
the Lodi Mews each proposing to print and publish all notices,
ordinances ?-c in accordance with the sueciications at the
following prices :-

It appearing that the proposal of The Lodi Sentinel was
the lowestandbest bid submitted, award of contract for the
fiscal year ending June 30 1931 -.las made by the adoption of
Resolution of Award Mo. 614 by the following vote :-

THIS :AS ALSO T:- DATE FCR the reception of sealed bids
for the construction of a comfort house in Lawrence Park and
the following bids received were publicly opened, canvassed
and declared :-

It appearing that the bid of Hieb Brothers gas the low-
est and best bid received under the specifications, award was
therefore made to `hem by the adoption of Resolution No.615

• The Librarian of Lodi Public Librarj notified the Coun-
cil by letter that the term of office of ':_r George Le Feber
as Library Trustee mould expire June 30th and on motion of
Councilman 7eihe, Keagle second, Mr Le Feber was reappointed
for the statutory tern of three years from July 1, 1930.
It appearing from the statement of the Clerk that final
.deeds to the City had been made by the City Tax Collector
covering six parcels of land sold for delinquent taxes in the
years 1924 and 1925 and that no redemptions -had been had of
the same, the City Attorney was directed to institute proper
proceedigs to obtain possssion and quiet title to all of
these parcels by the adoption of the following resolution by
unanimous vote of the City Council :-

after described has been sold to the City of Lodi for delin-
quent taxes and street assessments and lien of street bonds
due and owing to said city such sales having been made under
and pursuant to Ordinance iso .- 129 of the City of Lodi entit-
led" An Ordinance Prmviding for the Assessment,Levy and Col-
lection of Taxes", and pursuant to the law in such cases made
and provided; and whereas the time in which said parcels of
real property could be redeemed from said sales has expired

executed and delivered to said City of Lodi a deed transferri

directed to comience, maintain and vrosecute to ii»al judQement
in the proper court or courts, such suit or action, or suits or
actions as may be necessary or prover for the purpose of obtain-
ing for and on behalf of and in the name of said City, possession
of each of said -parcels of real :roperty, and for tale au_rpose of
quieting and det�rnining the title of said city in and -to -each
of said parcels of real property.
The parcels of real property herein referred to are situated
in the City of Lodi Count=r of San Joaquin, State of California,

2nd. Commencing at the Southeast corner of the six acre

Bills in the ar.:ount of $2,915.79 as approved by the Finance
Cor-nittee (claims No.14202 to No. 14264) were allowed and ordered
paid or motion of Councilman Roach, .leihe second.
The City Council directed the City Attorney to write to the
State Division of .;ater Rights ar:d ascartain the divisions inter-
pretation of the effect of the apvlication of '.7oodbridge Irrigation

District for the use of stored :waters under their a;plication
:o. .307 and also to ascertain the status of the aopIications
i -- for water diversions of J. %Preston Jr eil her from `lr Preston

date on which Lr ?reston would be combelled to cor once con-
struction of his reservoirs and other'diversion works.

a lar5e capacity ;rater storage tank should be provided for to
tide over peak periods and insure fire protection. 's an emerg-
ency measure ani. actino under Section 12 of Ordinance ho. 164,
the Oouncil ordered that effecti•re i*ariediately the following
restrictions on use of .rater for laerns and irrigation be put
in effect :- all premises bearing odd nunbers, that is on the
;gest and north sides of the streeus be permitted to use :rater
for such parposes on i`_ondays,';rednesdays and Fridays only;
these of even nunbered sides of the streets on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Saturdays -no -restriction on Sumdays. Also, the
Police Den artment aas ordered instructed to notice waste of
=:tater and :.,arn house -holders that the same should cease.
