HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 2, 1930393 Council Chambers -City Council City :.all - City of Lodi Monday, Jure 2.,1930 The City Council of the City of Lodi met at 8.02 o'clock . on the ate first above written, Councilmen Keagle,Roach, Steele and Tieihe present Councilman Spooner absent. On motion of -Councilman Steele, Keagle second, Council- man �/eihe was chosen Mayor pro -tem and ouened the meeting. The minutes of the last regular meeti held ' �ay 19th were read, approved as read and so endorsed -by the Mayor. No persona appearing, the order of public hearings was passed for the time being and the City Council proceeded to 'hear communications and reports. ?'r I. I irir�bel applied by letter. for a position in the park department. Letter ordered received and -filed. ?he monthly report of the Chief of Police and that of the City Poundmaster were received, read and ordered filed. ,he Clerk presented specifications for the arcual advertising of the City and the same were approved and adopt- ed on motion and the Clerk directed to advertise for the publication of notices and ordinances &c for the coming -fiscal year. At this time the City Council returned to the order of Public Hearings and Mr Edwin Tate addressed the Council in regard to_the proper care of street trees. Engineer Lund of the Division of Highways being present, addressed the Council in regard to the necessity for caring for the accumulation of storm waters at the east end of Eden Street. Gn motion of Councilman Keagle, Roach second, the Clerk was directed to assure the State engineers that the City would install the proper drainage system. Cn motion of Councilman Steele, Keagle second, the Superintendent of Public Utilities was directed to proceed iniediately with the installation of a proper sized drain and cross-over from.Cherokee Lane to Garfield Street along the South side of Eden Street. Cne building permit fora garage at 109 S.School St was granted, the same to cost 175..10 it aopearing that several benches had been taken from -the City ?ark by parties unknown, the Street Superintendent was -directed to have an equal number built by the men in his department on motion of Councilman Steele, Heagle second. Monthly. bills a`:gregati�. �� $10,019.07 as approved by the Finance Cor` ittee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Steele Roach second, the same comprising claims Nos 14110 to 1420. inclusive. No further business appearing the City Council adjourned at 9.38 o'clock P.L. on motion of Councilman Steele.
