HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - May 19, 1930392 Council Chambers -City Council City Hall -City of Lodi 1: onaay ,May 19 uh. , 1930 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order at 8.05 o'clock ,,.,r, on the date first above written, Councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele, .7eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the last regular meeting held ?iiay 5th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the "ayor. Mr Victor Meyers re resenting Lodi Post :o.22 of the American Legion asked that a sufficient appropriation be included in the next annual budget to allow the services of a band on Armistice Day and on Memorial Day; he also asked -that the American Le ion Junior Base Ball Team be allowed the ball -field in Lawrence Park for four hours twice each week for practice. This request was granted on motion of Ccurcilman Steele, Teihe sedord, the details of this arrangement to be left to the Committee on Parks. Mr John C. Bewley and Mr L.H.Rinn addressed the Council advocating the placing of a City add in the annual issue of the California Real Estate Magazine. Matter referred to Lodi District Chamber of Commerce without recommendation. Three building permits aggregating $11,000 were granted. Councilman jeihe presented final draft of the plans and specifications for a comfort station in Lawrence Park and the same were approved, adopted and the City Clerk dir- ected to advertise for bids for the contract on motion of Councilman ,ieihe , Roach second. The mid -month payrolls were approved for payment in the amount of $2,393.92 comprising Claims 414075 to 14109 inclusive on motion of Councilman :eihe, Roach second. On motion of Councilman .7eihe, Roach second, City Attorney :?est was instructed to proceed with the prosecut- ion of pending percolating water suits in San Joaquin County, including the preparation of the necessary -data and engineering reports.prelirninary to trial. Mayor _7 A Spooner was granted leave to be absent from the state for three weeks beginning :ay 24th.,on motion of Councilman :7eihe, Roach second.
