HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - May 3, 1930391 Council Chambers -City Council City Hall - City of Lodi Mondayiay 3,rd.1930 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was celled to order at 8.10 o'clock P.M. on the date first above written, Councilmen Keagle, Roach, Steele, ','eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 24th were read and approved after changing the number oz band concerts to be given by John Bauer from 12 to 10 (page 388 -last line) also, the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of April 24th were read and approved without correction. 1'r Harley Y. Leete representing the Play Ground Commiss- ion asked for an additional appropriation of $200.00 for this year. Matter taken under advisement. Yr. Hd-ar Jilkinson asked that three trees be removed from the balI Eround at Lawrence ?ark and on motion of Council- man :eihe, Ke le second, the Street Superintendent was directed to remove the trees. Cn annlication, the Health Inspector of San Joaquin Local Health District was granted not to exceed $65.00 from the appropriation for mosquito control for payment of labor in draining water holes north of the City.` The Finance Cam ittee Presented its report.of their inspection of moneys in the hands of the City Treasurer as of March 31st.,1930. Two building permits for structures to cost $900.00 were granted. Councilman .!eihe presented a tentative draft of the plans of a new comfort house at Lawrence Park promising that the` specifications would be ready at the next meeting. At 9.10 P.M. the Council was resolved into Committee of the chole to consider further proceedings in the matter of prosecution of certain suits affecting the ,-raters of the Mokel- umne River consulting with lir Robert M. Searle. At 11.00 o'clock P2'. the meeting was again called to order and on motion of Councilthan Steele, :$eine second, the City Attorney was directed to take the necessary legal steps to appeal to the Supreme Court from the decision of Judge J. A. Smith of Calaveras County in case No.1661 tried in his Court entitled last Day L'unicipal utility District ve City of Lodi and Colorado Power Company.
