This rewular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi was called to order b; ,he ayor at 8.04 o'clock_ ll. at
the place and on the date Fi.rst hereinabove written, Councilmen
Hale, Roach, Shattuck, .ieihe and Spooner present, i;one absent.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held January 20th,
1930 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the :.:ayor.
By unanimous consent, the order of Public Hearings ,was
passed and the City Council proceeded to hear reports and com-
munications.
• Reports from the Chief of Police and the City Fourdmaster
;rere received, read and ordered filed.
Shell Cil Company a;plied for permission to install an
additional storage unit at their plant on Railroad Avenue and
the same ;ras granted on motion of Councilman-ieihe, Shattuck
second.
''r-L.T.ason addressed a letter to the City Council in
regard to the proposed filling of 7oodbridge or Smiths Lake and
ehe Clerk was airected to answer the same stating that the City
could not entertain am proposition at this time and that the
ownership of this land"o the City would not sive it the cloak
of municipal al exemption snould the same be concerned.
In the matter of the solicited contribution of the sum
of $100.00 toward the erection of a monument to the Veterans of
the Civil lar; the Clerk read a communication from the City
Attorney to .hat it had been referred and was directed to :Trite
the Jortans Relief Corns of Lodi stating that the City would
contribute the last C1C0 needed :crovided that title in ehe site
or an. interest therein should be -deeded to the City.

sewer and light faciSities to the easterly 12 acres of the nor-
therly 3 acres of Lot 6, Lodi Barnhart Tract at the Sd corner
of Vine Street and Cherokee Lane. ne Clerk was directed to
aosure the con omplated owners of this parcel that the City would
extend these services if and when substantial assurance in the
•.fay of a deposit to cover part of the. cost estimated at $1,600,
:'ao placed with the City, The decosit to be either returned' in
li=ht and Nater bills or on partial construction of the Auto
Court proposed to be erected -by applicants.
Three buil-ting permits a e-re.ating $675.00 were granted.

Councilman 3hattuck,Roach eeco nd the Clerk .,as directed to
obtain a statement for the Council from Attorney Robert :1.Searls
as to the status of present litigation and an estimate of cost
of pursuing same in one courts.
On motion of Councilman Shattuck,:ieihe second, the Clerk
was directed to reduce the :tater bills of premises having u ore
than one house on a lot so that each additional house of three
rooms or less would pay 50f per month instead of $1.00 as at
present.This order to be in effect pending an amendment to the
water regulations.
Bills in the amount of $13,243.70 as approved by the Fin-
ance Caoiaittee and comprising claims 13,500 to 13,584 excepting
claim Ivo.13573 not allowed, were ordered paid on notion of
Councilman Hale, .iei: e second.
