Monday,December 2, 1929.
No quorum of the City Council appearing, I posted notice
of adjournment to and until Tuesday, December3rd,1929 at the
hour of 8 o'clock P.M. having been previously instructed there-
to by the Mayor and Councilmen, affixing copies of said notice
to the bulletin board on the lower floor of the City Hall and
to the door of the City Council and adjourned the meeting of
the City Council to that hour and day.

Tuesday, December 3rd. ,1929
Pursuant to adjournment taken as above, the City Council
of the City of Lodi met in adjourned regular session at 8.02
o'clock P.M. at the place and on the date first herein written,
Councilmen, Hale,Roach,Shattuck,:ieihe and Spooner present,none
absent or tardy.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 18th and
the adjourned regular meeting of November 20th.,1929 were read,
approved as read and so endorsed by tae ;payor.
No persons appearing the order of Public Hearings was
passed and the City Council proceeded to hear the reading of
communications and reports.
A letter front C.J.Rambo & Company in regard to an audit
of the City accounts was read and ordered filed.
Reports from the Chief of Police and from the Pourdmaster
were read and ordered filed.
City Attorney ''Test stated that Woodbridge Irrigation Dist-
rict, through its Attorney A.L.Cowell had informed him that
suit would Be instituted y the District as against the City to
restrain and enjoin the latter from the use of its irrigation
canal or to fix an annual sum as cost of maintenance should
the Court decide that such an inunction should not issue. As
this seemed the only :ray in which a determination of the City's
rights could be measured, the matter was left in the hands
of the City Attorney.
On recommendation of Chief of Police Christesen, Arthur
Earl Dlewett was appointed a Police Officer to serve at the
pleasure of the City Council. Nothing was said as to his com-
pensation.
Dills in the amount of $12,836.86 as approved bythe
Finance Committee were allowed and ordered paid on moion of
Councilman Hale, aeihe second.
Five building permits totalling $1,175.00 were allowed.
On motion of Councilman Hale, the Cit Council adjourned
to December 16th. ,1929 at the h•r of 8 o',e ock PM.
