HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - November 18, 1929367 Council Chambers - City Council City Hall - City of Lodi Monday, november 18th, 1929 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order by the Mayor at 8:05 O'clock P.M. on the date first above written. Councilmen Roach, Shattuck, eihe and Spooner present, Councilman Hale absent. The minutes of the last regular meeting held November 4th. 1929 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. 3ids for the furnishing of motor street sweeping equipment were received from The Austin :;estern Road Machinery Company hand Jenison Machinery Company and taken under advisement until a demonstration of both types could be had. The city clerk v;as instructed to return the deposit checks. Bids were also received on the furnishing of eddressozraph machine eauipment and Irere referred to the City Clerk to report later. 3ids on the lighting of the tennis court in Lawrence Park were received from robes Supply Company and srayoar Electric Company. On motion of Councilman Shattuck, .:eihe second, the same were referred to the Superintendent of Pubic Utilities to report at an adjourned meeting of the Council to be held ;ednesday, November 20, 1929. The application of the Hotel Lodi for permission to use a steel pole to display a sign directing traffic to their hotel was referred to the Chamber of Co=erce. The city clerk was instructed to nay taxes due in the counties of Amador and Calaveras on lands acquired from the Colorado Power Cozpany. This was done on motion by Councilman Shattuck, Roach second. On motion of Councilman Shattuck, °Geihe second, the Mayor and Clerk were directed to execute an annual contract .'ith the ,seat ,.extern Electro -Chemical Company for the purchase of liouid cholorine. Commission was received from the City Electrical . ngneer, L. T. 3arzellotti, transmitting his survey of the power trans- mission line from Lanoha _lana to this city. The dotter and accompanying man were or.e_ed accented and filed on m:tion of Councilman Shattuck, Roach second. Bills in the .amount of .,2775.49, as aooroved by a majority of the finar_oe committee, were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman Roach, .'ieihe second. Councilman Shattuck addressed the board regarding the damage done at the Municipal 3aths b;, the wind, and was authorized to have the siding nailed fast, and sach windows as are damaged, repaired. Seven building rmits, for buildings to cost •..4500.00, „era granted. In the matter of further action in pressing the seit against the East 3ay Minicioal Utilit;;Co.
