This regular meeting of the City Council of the ]ity
of Lodi .as called to orded by the `.ayor at 8.05 o'clock P.M.
on the date first above written, Councilmen Hale, Roach,
Shattuck, Jeihe and .ipooner present, none absent.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held October
7th.,1929 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the
:ayor.
olice officer Avery E. Jhite applied for leave of
absence with pay. for two weeks and a Turther leave without
Pay to eatena until kebruary lst.,1930 application approved
by his superior.officer. On motion of Councilman deihe,.Roach
second, leave granted as applied for.
After some discussion regarding the use of the old
City Hall as an Americanization Center, the Clerk 'as dir-
ected to inform the stonsors thereof that they should make
a complete survey of the building and submit written recom-
mendations to the Council.
Mr C. A. Jilliams addressed the Council advocating
the adoption of an ordinance licensing dealers in feeds,
fuels and ice.
Representatives of the Elgin and Austin street sweep-
ir.gg machines addressed the Council and on motion of Coun-
cilman :;eihe, Shattuck second, the Clerk was directed to
advertise for bids for furnishing the City with a motor
operated.pick-up sweeper, bids returnable november 18th.
The HIT::hting- of the tennis courts in Lawrence Park
was again discussed and the Clerk was directed to advertise
for proposals for pole equi ent in accordance with specif-
ications prepared ty Mr. J.A.Henning.
On motion of Councilman Hale, the City Council adjourn-
ed to the day and hour of their next regular meeting.
