HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 15, 19293313 Council Chambers -City Council City Hall -City of Lodi ;Monday April 15th. 1929 The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular ses- sion at 8.07 o'clock P.M. at the place and on the date first above written, Councilmen, Hale, Roach, Shattuck, T+eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of April lst. and the adjourned regular meeting of April 4th.,1929 were read, approv- ed as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. Mr John Bauer offered the services of the Tokay Band to play twelve evening concerts during the surer for $1,200 and one concert gratis. After discussion, the matter was reffered to Committee of the .Thole as the Council desired to allow sorle concerts to the Lodi High School Band if possible. Er L.H.Rinn advocated the passage of a zoning ordinance '?ev, F..A.Shuder addressed she Council on ;he subject of, mosquito prevention, stating that. the eTpenditure, of about $15G.00 in planting top minnows and oiling pools would insure freedom :ram this pest during the summer. On motion of Council- man ;Jeihe Shattuck second, a sum not to exceed $200.00 was appropriated for this purpose. Dr. .T.H.Cross;rhite of the Lodi Exch e Club invited the City Council to attend their meeting to be geld on Tuesday. n_i;1t at 6.30 P.M. when Mr T.P.Vittchen Attorney for Eas Bay Lun_icinal Utility District would address the Club; Dr. Crosswhitels invitation was accepted with thanks. Mayor Spooner stated that t}e Lion's Club had extended an invitat- ion to the Council to meet with theta at 12.50 P.S. on .'Fednes- day to hear ?dr H.H.Henderson speak regarding the situation along the Mokelumne River. Mr Ivan Satterlee Presented sketches of a tentative plan for the erection of.a grandstand and comfort station at Lawrence Park. These were referred to the Council for consider- ation and action at a later date. Reports of the City Treasurer and City Clerk for the quarter ended March 31st.,1929 were received,read and ordered filed. ON OSTE R A.ND ACROSS CERTAIN ST? :'S IN THE CITY CP LODI, _aving been regularly introduced at an adjourned regular meeting of the CityCouncil held April 4th.,1929, was introduced for passage and inally passed, adopted and ordered to print by the following vote:- AYES:- Councilmen, Shattuck,Roach,Hale,7eihe and Spooner NOES:- None ABSENT:- None. The foregoing ordinance was thereupon approved and sign- ed by the Mayor. The Clerk read a letter from the City Planning Canmission recommending the adoption of a zoning ordinance. The City Tax Collector was authorized to Publish a notice that City Taxes are now due and payable and would be delinquent on the last '_'onday in April, the cost of publishing such. notice not to exceed $30,00.
