HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 18, 1928 SM268 pity Hall,City of Lodi ,iednesday,April 1Sth.,1928 The Cit- Council of the City of Lodi met in special se- ;,sion at the call of the Mayor at 7.55 o'clock on the date first above written, Councilmen Hale, Roach, Shattuck, yleihe and Spooner present. After discussion of irre larities on behalf of cert- ain City employees namely the Chief of the Fire Department and one of the pais engine drivers, the Clerk was directed to enter the following order upon the minutes of the meeting: Order of the City Council: The City Clerk shall forthwith notify.Fire Chief B.H. Stark and Engine Driver U.R.Channell that their services -could be discontinued effective immediately for just cause; he shall make out and pay over to each of the above nen checks in full iaynent of the amounts due -them, to Mr Starks the sun of ,iaty Dollars, being for the period from April 1st. to 18th. inclusive and to Mr Channell, -the sum of Tiaenty.Dollars, being for the period from April 16th. to 19th. inclusive, it being suPposed in the latter case that Channell would report for duty before notice could be served. The Clerk was also directed to enter the fallowing appointments:- r B. C. Dort erty to be Chief of the Fire Department and Mr J. Baker to be engine driver, both appointments to be probational. The Mayor was delegated to inform the City Recorder that he would be expected to maintain regular office hours for at least four hours per day.
