his the firstreFalar meeting; of the City Council of
the City of Lodi to be held in the Yew City ':all, Pine Street
at Pleasant Avenue, was called to order in the Council Chamb-
er at 8.02 o'clock Pel. on the date first above :Britten, Cou-
ncilmen ::ale, Shattuck, reihe ard7'ayor Spooner present, Cou-
ncil -man Roach absent, being reported as seriously ill.
The minutes of the regular meeting, of r^e'oruaxyy 6th. and
the special meeting of Fe'oruary 16th.,1928 were read, approved
as read and so endorsed by the 'ayor.
r z. C. letmore as a :,ember of a special co-iittee from
the Lodi Churc'r>naan's Club a,.dressed the Council rz=-arding the
necessity of enforcing the State lar regarding liS�ts on bi-
cycles and the cumin; of roller s sating by children on the
slreets.:.:r B. Archer, a member o: the same can-raittee also
spo::e on these matters.
At the order of the I.ayor, the erfcrchLS of the bicy-
cle lint la.as was referred uo the Co�.mittee on Public Health
and Safety, it appearing that the -_Police had already taken
the roller skati_n<, matter up and had made ca,araendible prog-
ress.
:.:r Christian Ra eth presented a plat_ for the laout of
'border shrubs and trees on the South and ',Test sides of Law-
rance Park, estimation that it mould require 238 shrubs,- inc-
ludir.� oleanders for the job, ;fir R,ageth to plant and guarantee
goth for a period of one year at a -orice of $1.50 per plant.
0n motion of Councilman Shattuck :Jeihe second, the above
proposal was ordered accepted ar ur.Rageth instructed to
proceed with the planting.

of a street light at Vige & Ga`rffield Streets. Taken under
advisement, Superintendent =yenning reco�nending haat the
installation be provided for next winter along :with lights
on all intersections with Garfield Street north of Vine St..

plan of a comlort house for Lawrence _ark but no action
ta'_ken, the matter oein5 referred_ to tree finance corn~: ittee.
1_r. J. J. Shattuck proposed that the City Wake a loan
to- the B.S.A. Camp at aictLe Grove. of pipe necessary to bri
grater to the several buildings, this aas also referred to the
C=mittee on Finance & Revenue together with other plans for
improvenents, as follows: -

Bills in the amount of $2,423.94 as approved by a maj-
ority of the Finance Co—mittee were allowed” on motion of
