The City 'Council of the City of Lcdi met in regular session at 8.O7 o'clock 72: on the above date, Councilmen iiale,Roach, Shattuck, Jeihe ardllayor Spooner present. The minutes of the regular meeting. of December l9tn. ,1927 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. air. Ted A. Hinzman presented a schedule of soeczfic rates for fire insurance on the new City Hall which was ordered filed with the City Clerk. In the matter of the award of contract for City printing for the current calendar year: - Sealed proposals were received by the Council and publicly opened at this time from The Lodi clews and the Lodi Sentinel, the former bidding at Z9 per column inch for first insertion and the latter at 224 both with scale graduated downward for subsequent publications. It appearing that the bid of The Lodi Sentinel .-ras the best and lowest bid received, award rias trade to them by the passage of Resolution No. b32 by the following, vote: - AYES: Councilmen, Shattuck, .;eche, Hale, Roach & Spooner. NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, None. the report of the Chief of _'olice for the month of December ras received, read and ordered filed. A petition for se::er extensions in the Lodi Barnhart Tract signed by residents of the territory south of Vine Street was ppresentea and read. As :he annual budget had made appropriation for this LeJer, no action was taken on the petition. Suet. of Public Utilities J.A.Henning was authorized to extend tie sewer and :rater mains in Lockeford Street Last of Hutchins Street to accomodate two :louses belonging to Maria Focacci. Three building permits for garages totalling $bUO.uU were ordered granted. Bills in the amount of $14,729.9d as approved by the finance committee were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Bale, Shattuck second. Cn motion of Councilman Roach, Shattuck second, the Council adjourned until the date and h:ur •f their next regular meeting. The minutes of the last regular meeting held January 3rd., 1928 were read, appr07ed as read and so endorsed by the :.:ayor. NO persons being in attendance, the order of ,ublic hearings was passed by unanimous consent. nater the reading of a communication from the Secretary of the City Plannin; Commission advising the Council that the terms of office of Commissioners Roach, Begley & "'oore had expired on January 1st. 91928, the Chair re -appointed these gentlemen to serve again on the commission and the appointments were approved by tie Council on *motion of Councilman `+eihe , Shattuck second. The quarterly report of the Secretary of Lodi Volunteer Fire Department was received and read also the report of the City Plumb- ing inspector for December. Three building permits a:73-regating 43,050 were granted. The locating of electroliers for the new City Rall was ref- =erred to the Committee on Streets to consult with the architect and iur. J. A. Bills in the amount of $2,629.28 as approved by the finance committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Roach, Shattuck second. it appearing that ths new 3ouncil Chambers wo-.Ad not be ready by February 6t.h. ,the date of the next regular meeting, adjournment to meet at the old City Hall was taken on motion of Councilman ',leihe.
