The City Council of the City of Lodi met_in regular ses- sion at 6.03 o'clock ?.Y. on the above date, ail masters pres- ent or. roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of december 0th.,1927 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by theMayor. After consultation with the General Contractor and his Sub -contractor on eainting , an extra was allowed on the new City :ail contract -of $210.00 to cover difference between tint- ing and three coat painting in the parts of the building covered with hard white plaster. This was sone on motion of Councilman Roach, Shattuck, second. :our building permits ag regating• 4 O.uO were allowed and French Cleaners were allowed to move the location of their pro- posed cleaning plant from 318 Hilborn Street to 412 S.School St, there being no objections filed. Cn notification from the Librarian that the terms of of- .fice of three trustees of Lodi Public Library were about to expire, they were re -appointed by the passage of the following RESOLUTION NO. 031 Resolved by the City Council of the City of Lodi: - That George Le Feber, George L. Meissner and Dr. E. Guy Williams, now Trustees of Lodi Public Library,. be re -appointed for the statutory term of three years, each oe said Trustees to serve from and after January ist.,1928. AYES: Councilmen, !lale,Roach,Shattuck,4eihe and Mayor Spooner. NOES: Councilmen, None.ABSENT: Councilmen, None. It afpearing that the architects had o::itted to provide for a railing in the Council Chamber of the new City Hall and he having submitted a detailed drawing for the construction there- of, an extra to the contract was authorized in the amount 3f $220.00 on motion of Councilman Roach, Shattuck, second. On separate motions made by Councilman Shattuck and second- ed by Councilman deihe, the execution of the following contracts for the ensuing calender year was directed: - Mazda Lamps, to Edison Lamp Division of General Electric Canaany, lamps to be delivered through Electric r.quipnent Co. of Lodi; Electric Transformers, to General Electric Company. Watthour Meters, to Duncan Electric Company. Gasoline, to Shell Oil Company of California. ".'o:ed by .ieihe,.Shattuck second that the Superintendent of Peblic Utilities install four street lights at intersections with ;ashingt.on Street south of Tokay Street. Bills as audited in the amount of $3,188.13 were ordered p aid on motion of Councilman feihe, Roach second. Ordinance No. 161 originally introduced at the meeting of December l2th.,1927 was brought up for passage: Councilean Hale moved that certain parts of section 4 be stricken out, they having been disaoproved by the City Attorney and that Subdivision G of the said Section 4 be made to read as follows: - Section 4, subdivision 2. Payrolis. Money due for saleries,wages,labor and incident- als thereto such as horse and auto hire, shall be paid to the cont, various officers and employees of .he City within three days from and after the tirsv and f'if'teenth days of each and every month for the preceeding half month or as soon thereafter as possible. . -'ach department shall furnish certified tie sheets, tame books, cards, roils or other time. recordsto and includ- ing the fifteenth and last days of each month to the City Clerk aho shall make up itemized payrolls wcich shall be examined and certified by the officer or employee of the City having charge, of such department, stating over employee_ signature that the amo its thereon are correct, are justly due each name on said dai roils and that the amounts are a legal charge against the y.
