The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular session
at 8.U6 o'clock F.M. on the above written date, Councilmen Hale,
Roach, Shattuck, ieihe and Mayor Spooner present, none absent or
tardy.
The Linutes of the regular meeting of November 21,1927 were
read, approved as read and so endorsed by the mayor.
No persons appearing, the order of Public Hearings was•bas-
sed by unanimous consent and the Council proceeded to hear tfie
reading of Communications, Reports and Notices:
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of Novem-
ber was read and ordered accepted and filed.
The petition of Veterans' Welfare Board of the State of
California asking for the cancellation of taxes assessed against
Lot 1Z in Block b of Hutchins High School Addition to Lodi met
with favorable response by the passage of Resolution No. 030
by the following vote: -
AYES: Council -ren, Shattuck,feihe,Roach,Hale and Mayor
Spooner.
NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen, None.
RESOLUTION No. 330.
R SOLUTION DIRECTING THE CANCELLATION OF ASSESSMENT
FOR TAXES AGAINST La 12 IN BLOCK 8 OF HUTCHINS HIGH
SCHOOL ADDITION TO LCDI, NOW THE PROPERTY OF VETERANS
I,LFARE BOARD OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
:i'rEREAS , Veterans ,; elfare Board of the State of California
has petitioned for the cancellation of property taxes assessed
in the year 1927 against the following described parcel of land
in the Cit -of Lodi, to -wit:
Lot 12 in Block e of Hutchins High School Addition to Lodi.
771,ScITOT =gill -assessment as to taxes be, and the same
is hereby ordered cancelled. he City Clerk shall credit the City
Tax Collector with the amount of said taxes, to -wit, the sum of
Six Dollars,($6.UU) and the City Tax Collector shall enter at the
proper place on the assessment roll and upon Tax Receipt No.bb6
the fact of this cancellation and the date and number of this
Resolution. Notnang herein snail cancel any.payment due or to
become due for street Improvement Liens against this parcel or
for interest thereon.
Cement plast-ring of the concrete base of the new City Hall
above ::he ground line was authorized on motion of Councilman
Shattuck, seconded by Councilman Roach.
Six building permits aggregating $6,UU0 were allowed.
It appearing from the contract and from a statement by the
Clerk thatTredaay Brothers had been unable. to enter into the
new City Hail altnough all the equipment for their contract
had been assembled in storage in this City and in Stockton, and
that proper insurance whereby the City's interest would be safe-
zarded had been taken out, thisfirm was allowed an advance of
7t% of the amount of their contract on furnishing, motion of
Councilman leihe, Shattuck, second.

AND TO CLAIMg AND DEMANDS UPON THE CITY TREASURY." was Intro-
duced on motion of Councilman Hale, Shattuck second and by the
same motion, laid over until the date of the next regular meet -

Bilis in the total amount of $22,ts56.bU as approved by the
Finance Committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of
Councilman Shattuck, .ieihe, second.

As Corunittee of the :Tnoie, the Council considered matters
relating to the set+age disposal plant. tentavily fixing 'lueway,
December ; tUth. as the date 17or disposal of :ratters relate to
alleged nuisances concerned with the operation of the plant.
On motion of Coun_cihan deihe, Shattuck second, the Clerk
was directed to notary the Fire Chief that '�- amine No, 2 at �1 aple
Square should answer all calls in the City when no fira*ian -eras
on duty with the truck at the .'!at --r Plant.
On motion of CounciL*ian :Ieihe, the Council adjourned to the
