Tnia regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order by the Mayor at b.16 o'clock P.M. on the above date, Councilmen Hale, Roach, Shattuck, ,leihe and Mayor Spooner present, none absent or tardy. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of September 12th.,1927 were read, approved as read and so endorsed oy the Mayor. • D.B.Doepke protested against odors from the sludge drying beds at the sewage disposal plant and -was assured that the Coun- cil had taken steps to prevent a reoccurance of the nuisance, The Report of City RluMbin; inspector J.A.Henning was read and ordered` filed. The resignation of Clyde O. Jackson as traffic officer was received, read and on motion of Councilman •Neihe, seconded by Councilman Shattuck, accepted and the existing contract with Mr. Jackson ordered cancelled. i.Roy Coffman applied for the position of traffic officer. The Clerk read a letter from the engineers at the water plant setting forth their reasons for being entitled to one day off in seven, also a recommendation compiled by Lr.Henning prov- iding for two alternate methods of accomplishing this end; at the request of the Clerk, tne matter was laid over until the next meeting to allow further -planning. Mr. Harvey of the Certainteed Products Company addressed the Council in regard to his products. In tne matter of tne bids received at the meeting of Sept- anber 12th.,1927 for emirs and floor coverings: - The contract for the furnishing and installation of one hundred opera chairs was let to Meer Zelver as the lowest bid- der by the passage of Resolution o: Award No. 020 by the fol- lowing vote: - AYES: Councilmen Sha. ttuck,Roach,Hale,:Veihe &Mayor Spooner. NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, None. The contract for the linoleum floor coverings was let to Frank McCullum at the price bid of $2,490.00 and for the rubber tile flooring to i.Newigeld & Sons at the price of $1,6O4.06 by -the passage of Resolution of Award No. o26 by the following vote: - AYES: NOES: Councilmen,Shattuck,:Veine,Roacn,hale & aIayor Spooner. Councilmen, None. ABSENT, Councilmen, None. Bills in the amount of $2,560.:56 as approved bythe finance committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion oCouncil- man bale, seconded by Councilman Roach. At the . su- estion of Councizsan Shattuck, it was .decided to leave the date of closing the Municipal Baths to the Manager, W. Hurrle but not to make this date later than October Gnd., 237 (::inutes of Sept.lytr.,concludeci) After considerable discussion on the matter of wasting of water, it was decided to retain_ Mr. a.G.hurrie after the oaths na.d closed, as a mater inspector for at least one complete ins- pection of the City or for such a time as miSht be necessary, his'salary to be $loU.uu per month. *it 9.40"PAT. the City Council adjourned on motion of Coun- cilman seine.
