City Hall, City of Lodi
Monday, August 1,1927.
This .regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi :vas called to order at 18.14 o'clock P.M. on the date
first above written, Councl l'nen Hale, Roach, i9eihe and Shattuck
Present, .mayor Spooner absent. In the absence of the Mayor,
Councilman Hale was .unanimously chosen to preside and took the
chair.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of July 20th.
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the 'mayor.
Mr. John Bauer addressed the Council relative to the om-
ission of one band concert and the employing of the band at
the play to be given by the City pla,yr Gr^,'incs at the High
School Auditorium. On notion of Councilman Shattnck, :seco:ided
by 'Councilman Roach, the play gTounds people were allowed the
use of the band; Councilman_ Melhe voting No.
The Goodman Jewelry Company of Stockton presented an
oral proposition for a master clock service in the new City
Hall. They were directed to put the matter in writing and
the matter would be given consideration at a later meeting.
The Chief of ?olice filed his report for the month of
July and on the reading thereof, it was ordered filed without
cement.
A.E.Dutschke applied by letter for appointment as Janitor
at the new City Hall.
The Clerk read a carmunication from the Railroad Commiss-
ion of the State of California setting Aug st 18th.,1927 as
the date for a hearing in the latter of the application of
Central California Traction Company for exemption from the
provisions of GeTeral Order No. 7S" of the Co er,ission.
The Treasurer having reported to the Clerk that he would
need the sum of $479.21 to pair off outstanding^bonds and int-
erest in the Street Assessment Fund, the =1 of $500.00 was
ordered transferred to that fund from the General Fund by the
passage of Resolution No. 022 by the following vote: -
AYES: Councilmen: Shattuck,.ieihe,Roach. Hale
NCES: Councilmen: None.
*SENT: Mayor Spooner.
Bills as apprcved by the finance committee in the amount
of $15,093.35 were allowed on motion_ of Ccuncilman Shattuck,
seocndsd by Councilman 7eihe.
On notion of Councilman Shattuck, the Ccunoil adjourned
until the day and hour of their next regular meeting.

and approved without correction
at a regular meeting of the City
Council held August 5th.,1927.
