This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi was called to order at 8.15 ?.w'. or the abo^e date, Trustees
Roach, Shattuck and ,reihe present; Trustees Hale and Spooner,absent.
On motion of Trustee Roach, seconded by Trustee leihe,
Trustee Shattuck ,vas chosen to preside in the absence of Pres-
ident Spooner.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 5th. ,1927
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by he President.
This being the date set for the reception of sealed pro-
posals for furnishings for the new City Hall; the Board proceed -
ad to publicly open and declare the bids received which were as
follows: -

It appearing to be impossible to view samples submitted
and review the di feren_t specifications at this meeting, on
motion of Trustee :!eine, the bids were taken under advisement
until an adjourned meeting to be held later in the week.
E.H.Stark, Fire Chief, applied for leave of absence and
the payment of his expenses to a fire chief's convention to
be held at Portland, Oregon_; on motion of Tr:cstee 77eihe, second-
ed by Trustee Roach, lir Stark was allowed railroad fare, hotel
expense and two weeks absence.
Five building permits for structures to cost $1,250.00
were ordered granted.
The a-oolications of Robert 7iiiiams,O. .Tn.omnson and A.S.
Lyon for appoint1nent to the'caretaker job at the new City Hall
were read and ordered filed.
The reports of the Treasurer and City Clerk for the quart-
er ended June 30th.,1927 were read and on motion of Trustee
7eihe, ordered received and filed.
City Engineer L.y.3arzellotti reported that Pacific 0 -as
and Electric Company was tearing up portions of the streets in
the Northwest part of the City without having Wade any applic-
ation therefore, evidently presuming that thear franchise to
lay gas mains in the Cityave the the right to lay pipes as
they might wish; the City Clerk was instructed to assist the
City Engineer in determining how far their rights extended.
Bills in the amount of $4,133.30 as a.proved by the Board
were allowed on notion of Trustee Roach, seconded by Trustee
:leihe .
On motion of Trustee.7eihe, seconded by Trustee Roach the
Superintendent of Public �Ttilities :las allowed the sum of $150.
00� to be expended in replacement of exhaust nump at the Baths
as it appeared that an even trade could not $e arranged with
Atlas Iron 'Torkz.
On motion of Trustee Roach, seconded by Trustee Yeihe,
the Board adjourned until o'clock ' . of 1'. 20th.,1927.
