City Hall, City of Lodi
Tuesday, July bth.,1927.
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi was called to orzer by the President at E3.12. o'clock
?X. on the above. date, Trustees Roach, .reihe and Spooner pres-
ent, Trustees Hale and Shattuck absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June '20th. ,1927
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
On motion of Trustee Roach, seconded by Trustee ;Yeihe,
Section 3 of Ordinance 159 was amended to read Section 3.
That said corporation shall construct necessary culverts for
the free passage of surface :rater underneath tracks where requ-
ested and all such culverts shall be constructed in accordance
with the plans of and subject to the approval of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Lodi and shallreolace all existing
sewer pipes which may be damaged from the- construction,main-
tenance or operation of said railroad crossings"
Ordinance No. 159 " AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE CENTRAL
PACIFIC RAILJAY COMPANY ( A COR?ORATION ) A REVOCABLE PERM
TO CONSTRUCT TRACKS OF STANDARD GAUGE ACROSS LOCKEFORD AND
MAIN STREETS, IN THE CITY OF LODI. " having been regularly
introduced at a regular meeting of the Board held June 20h.,
1927 and thereat laid over for not less than five days, was
introduced as amended in the foregoing by Trustee Weihe with
recommendation that the same be passed and adopted and on the
call of the roll, said Ordinance No. .159 was passed, adopted
and ordered to print by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Weihe, Roach and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None.
ABSENT: Trustees, Hale and Shattuck.
Ordinance No. 159 was then approved and signed by the
President of the Board.
Reports for the month of June from the City Marshal Pound -
master and Plumbing Inspector were received, read and ordered
filed.
A communication from the Fire Chief accompanying invent-
ory of apparatus was also read.
:Amer Tucker Sr. and F. E. Freeman appliedby letter for
appointment as caretaker of the new City Hall.
C.A.Pratt applied for the position of Park harden.
On motion of Trustee :reihe seconded by Trustee Roach,
Mr. Frank L. Thomas was em toyed as inspector on the new City
Hall job at a salary of 3200.00 per month.
On motion of Trustee :reihe, seconded by Trustee Roach,
the Board decided to install 'Majestic" air heaters in the
new City Hall, the same to be delivered to City'sjobber and
furnished through him at a price of $1,548.00 for he 26
heaters, thermostats included.
Bills in the amount of $10,139.65 as approved by the Board
were allowed and ordered paid.
One building permit in the amount of $300.00 was granted.
City Engineer Barzellotti reported progress in the open-
ing of South Church Street, recommending that the street be
opened all the way from Sturla Street to the north line of
Bewley's Suburban Acres.

Suverintendent of:Public Utilities, J.A.Henning, reported
that the pump used to exhaust :rater from the municipal baths
had been giving trouble and recommended that the motor be
raised so that it :could be clear -of .rater at all times. He
stated that he believed that the motor could be exc'nanzed for
one of different type at no cost and that the pit could be
deepened at a cost of about $50,00. At the order of the Board
=r. Henning was authorized to make the change within the cost
limits stated.
On notion of Trustee +eihe, seconded by Trustee Roach,
I Board adjourned until the date of their next regular meet-
ing, July 18„h., 1927.
