Thursday.June 9th.,1927
Pursuant to adjournment taken from the regular meeting
.of June 6th.,1927, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi
met in adjourned regular session at 8.12 o'clock at the place
and on the date first above written, Trustees Hale, Roach,
Shattuck, 4eihe and Spooner present, none absent or tardy.
On motion of Trustee Weihe, seconded by Trustee Roach
the Clerk was directed to omit the reading of the minutes of
preceeding meetings. •
At the order of the President, the Board adjourned to
the office of the City Engineer to consult,as Committee of
the Whole, with the representatives of the architect for the
new City Hall. •
On return to the council chamber, the meeting was re-
ooened and the Board proceeded to discuss the alternates to
the general contract. It a)oearing that the bid of J.H.Car-
penter of Stockton was the lowest and best bid receivedm the
contract for the construction of the new City Hall was award-
ed to him in accordance with his proposal by the passage of
Resolution No. b17 by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Ieihe,Roach,Hale,Shattuck and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None.
Le Moin Beckman applied by letter for permission to
use 30 feet on Pine Street an an equal amount on School Stteet
as entrances to hisproposed oil station in lieu of the 24
feet granted him on he 6th. On motion of Trustee Shattuck,
seconded by Trustee Roach, the permission was granted. •
In the matter of the opening of California Street as
started June 15th., 1925:- The President of the Board and the
City Clerk were directed to petition the State Railroad Com-
mission for permission to cross the Woodbridge branch railroad
at grade by the passage of Resolution No. 518 by the following
vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Shattuck,:7eihe,Hale,Roach and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Veihe,
the Board adjourned until the date of their next regular meet-
ing. June 20th.,1927.
