This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi was called to order at 8.10 o'clock P.M.; Trustees Hale, Roach,Shattuck and deihe present; Trustee Spooner absent. In the absence of the President, Trustee Jeihe .vas unanimously chosen to preside; moticr If Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Shattuck. The minutes of the regular meeting_of April 18th. were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the-Presiaent. Fred. 7. Post, attendant at the sewage disposal plant, asked that the roof on the pump house and the elairifier coverings be painted, also that some painting and paper hanging be done at the dwelling at that plant. He was instructed to secure paint for the pump house roof, in cooperation wit Mr. Henning and:have the men at -the. plant paint the roof. The matter of the dwelling was ref- erred to the Committee on Public utilities. Reports of the Poundmaster and City Marshal were received, read and ordered filed. J.S.Ricketts now appeared, and being granted heart the order of Public Hearings was re -opened and he asked tfiat the Board endorse the efforts of the local encempnent of Veterans of the Spanish ,lar to secure the next convention or the one in the year following for Lodi. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach, the Board voted to support their efforts and to_.invite the Veterans to hold their state convention in Lodi in the year 1928, or failing to secure it for that year, for the year 1929. The Clerk read a copy of a letter written by the City Attor- ney to the Hon. C.C.Young,-Governor of the State of California asking him to approve Assembly Bill No. 1185 relative to the retention of certain fines by municipalities. The action of the City Attorney was unanimously endorsed. A.)plicatio ns of Bonnie Wilder and August Auch for -positions on the Playground force were read and ordered filed. The. application of A. Morden for the position of traffic officer was read. Resblution No.. 513 "Resolution authorizing execution of agreement with Southern Pacific Company for sewer crossing at California Street was adopted by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, Hale,Shattuck,Roach and Jeihe. NOBS: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustee Spooner. Resolution No. 514 "Accenting Deeds to Harold Street West of Lincoln Avenue, no Barfield Street" was adopted by the fol- lowing vote: - AYES: Trustees Hale,Roach,Snattuck and Weihe. NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustee Spooner. Five building permits, including that of J.A.Brown to erect several small buildings and service station for a camp ground at the corner of Church and Lockeford Street, z,he total amount being $4,350.00, were allowed. Bills in the amount' of $9,445.80 as approved by the finance committee were allowed and ordered paid. On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Shattuck, the Board adjourned until 8 o'clock P.M of Frid ,May 6th.,1927. ttest City Clerk.
