HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 21, 1927215 Cit; Hall,City of Lodi Moncay, March 21,1927 This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 9.05 o'clock on the date first above written; Trustees Hale, Roach, Chattuc'.k, .7eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes lutes of the regular meeting of "arch 7th. ,1?27 were read, aeproved as read and so endorsed by the President. 'T''.Streeter, proprietor of Hotel Rex, Sacramento and Elm Streets asked that provision be made for unloading of California Transit Line stages on the south side of his place of business. Yr. John Bauer asked that he be assured of the City's continuance to aid theublic band concerts to be held.in the park, nroposirg as heretofore to held two concerts in June and ten adter Augua first. Mr Bauer was assured that the City would stand such expense up to the budget limit of $1,000. '.:`r. J! G Hurrle stated that he vnu.ld like to give the baths their annual overhaul in advance of the season so as to allow the naint and enamel to dry. Ref e red to cormifttee on Public Utilities. Mr.C.J.Rambo submitted a proposal for auditing of the City accounts. Chairman Hale of the Finance Committee stated that this committee had decided to take up this matter at a later date. Engineer ?.F,.Pierce of the California State Highway Com- mission explained the commission's attitude in regardto the paving of Cherokee Lane at a width of 56 feet. R.:Taber submitted the draft of a proposed plumbing ord- inance. This was ordered filed. Cit, Attorney Glenn :jest brought up the matter of peddling in the City at the request:of the Lodi BusiressMen's•Association. The aenlication of D.D.Turner for a position on the police force was ordered filed. In the matter of the application of J.A.Carroll for a stand in the public park; rr J.7.Shattuck stated that this priviledge would be let on the basis of competitive bids. The recommendations of the Committee on Public Health and Safety regarding the cclice department were accepted and at the suggestion the Presidert'of the Board, specifications for niforr:s and rules and regulations for the government of the department were ordered prepared. On motion of Trustee Weihe, seconded by Trustee Shattuck, the Clerk was directed to add to the Park payroll the r.eme of E.E.Hahn for work performed in the amount of $520.00 On motion of Trustee :.ale, seconded byTrustee Shattuck Ordinance No. 15$, "AN CRDIt ANCE AMENDING ODINANCE N0. 131 OF TEE CITY OF LODI, RELATING TO THE SALARY OF THE CITY RECORDER" was introduced, read and ordered laid over for not less than five days. Dills in the amount of $2,754.00 as approved by the audit- ing committee were allowed on motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Roach. + Board, Superintendent Christesen the order of the oard, Street Superintendent was authorized to aaploy l'r.E.E.Hahn and his egnipnent for the subsoiling of Lawrence Nark..
