Monday ,F ebruary 7th., 1927
This regular meetir of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi was called to order -by the President at 8.10 o'clock P.U. on
the above date, Trustees Hale, Roach, Shattuck, Jeihe and Spooner
present, none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 17th, 1927
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
John Kissell submitted a proposal for the purchase of a
portion of Lot 38 of the Lodi Barnhart Tract for the opening of
'Tashington Street. The matter was laid over until more definite
details might be had regarding the willingness to deed of other
property owners.
John Bauer of the Tokay Band asked that his organization
be assured of the City's. support for sx.•rner concerts; at the sug-
testion of Trustee Hale the matter was taken under advisement,
he commttee of the whole to make recommendations within thirty
days.
In the matter of rentals of ground at the SN corner of Lodi
Avenue and Central Avenue for use as a tennis court; at the
order of the President no action was taken, it being deemed to
be to the best interests of all parties concerned that money
should be spent on courts on the City's parks rather than on
the site in question.
Dr. James E. Nelson, Trustee of San Joaquin Local Health
District appeared before the Board and read his annual report
of the activities of the Health District within the City. On
motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach and unan-
imously carried the report was received with the gran' -:s of the
Board and by the same motion, Dr. Nelson was unanimously elected
as Trustee for the ensuing term of two years .
Reports for the preceeding.month from the City.Plumbing
Inspector, City Marshal and City Poundmaster were read and order-
ed piled. Reports of the Treasurer covering the quarters ended
September 30+.h. 1926 and December 31st.,1906 and the report of
the City Clerk for the quarter ended December 31st.,1926 were
read and referred to the committee on Finance & Revenue.
Ordinance No. 156 entitled, " AN ORDINANCE KEDING SECTION
6 OF ORDINANCE No.154 ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LODI
CITY POUND SPECIFYING THE CONDITIONS UNDER VHICH DOGS COAS,HORSE5
MULES ,SHEEP GOATS ,HOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS SHALL BE P�RVtTTED TO BE
WITHIN TEE CITY OF LODI' " having been regularly introduced and
read at the regular meeting of the Board held January 17th„ 1927
and thereat, by motion, duly laid over for not less than five days,
was again read and on motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by
Trustee 7eihe, passed to print and finally passed and adopted by
the foilowi_ vote:-
AYES: 'Trustees, Shattuck, Teihe, Hale, Roach and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None.
Ordinance No. 157 entitled," AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE,
N o . 137 ENTITLED ' AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC AND PARKING OF
AUTQKCBILES UPON THE STREETS IN THF. CITY OF LODI PROVIDING A PEN-
ALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT T:7IT it' -BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 11 AND MAKING IT
UNLAWFUL TO DRIVE AN AUTOMOBILE OVER cR ACROSS CERTAIN LIDS IN
SAID CITY OF LODI WITHOUT FIRST BRINGING SAID AUTOMOBILE TO A STOP,
was introduced on motion by Trustee Hale, seconded byTrustee
Shattuck and by the same motion, laid over for the satuatory
period of not less than five days.
Regarding the disputed right-of-way to the City dumping
�rround, the Clerk was directed to invite Mr.L.J.Loveless and Mr.
Henry Bechthold to appear at the next meeting of the Board and
see if some definite line could not be agreed upon.

John C. Jacobson applied by letter for appointment to an
vacancy that might occur in the position of truck driver in the
fire department.
The Clerk was directed to notify Marshal Christesen, he not
being in attendance, that Geo. H. bore and Louis H. Saxiguinetti
were prepared to gravel the alley in block 10 of the original
City as lar as their properties extended along the alley provid-
ing the City would grade the alley.
Ten buildirl,3 permits aggreggating $36 700.00 were ordered
g�rranted, the application of -Y ?ulatsunoto for a marquee at 24
I�0 Main conditionally: it being specified that the frame should
sheathed and covered with metal.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Shattuck,
bills in the amount of $9,526.64 as approved by the finance
committee were allowed and ordered pain.
On motion of Trustee Hale, the Board adjourned.
