A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi was Field on the date first above written, beginning a 8.
05 P.M., Trustees Hale,Roach,Shattuck,Weihe and Spooner pres-
ent, the,latter presiding.
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 20th.,1926 •
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
Ur. Frank W. Baker addressed the Board in behalf of the
Last Side Tennis Club grounds stating that the owner had
served notice on the club that their rent would be $90.00 par
year and that the Club could not meet this additional expense,
He also stated that he had been informed that the owner, now
in Chicago, would perhaps let the ground rent-free if the
Ciounds were open to the public. The matter was referred to the
ty Clerk to obtain a proposition from the owner of the lots
in question.
Gottlieb Doberstein applied for street lights on Washington
Street, south of Tokay Street; he was instructed to secure sig-
natures of those willing to pay 16' per front foot for the lights
and en collection of this money from all property owners bene-
fitted, the City would proceed to install the lights.
Anders Bolander requested information in regard to progress
in oneni. a street between :;Washington Street and Central Avenue
North of Maple Street. The Clerk stated that no deeds had been
executed and that the rights-of-way to Tokay Street or to
Central Avenue were difficult to obtain owing to differences of
opinion as to the proper direction for the North end of the
proposed, street.
Report of the Fire Chief for the quarter ended December 31,
1926 was received, read and ordered filed.
T'e.Secretar- of the City Planning Commission advised the
Board by letter that the terns of Commissioners J.K.Newfield
and Mrs. J. A. Henning had expired on December 30th.; the
President, with the approval of the Board, re -appointed the
above named persons to be Commissioners for two years from
January 1st., 1927.
Reports of the City'Marshal and Poundmaster for the past
month were received, read and ordered filed.
On the recommendation of the Superintendent of Public Util-
ities and on :notion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee
ieihe, the President of the Board was authorized to execute
an annual sales agreerment with General Electric Company for
the nurc::ase of transformers.
Three building permits totalling $2,200.00 were granted.
Bilis amounting to $12,879.46 as approved by the finance
committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee
Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach;
On motion of Trustee Shattuck the Board adjourned until
8 o'clock P.I. of Monday, January 10th., 1927.
