HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 15, 192410s City Hall, City of Lodi Monday, December 15-1924 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi for the third Monday in December was called to order by the President at 8 o'clock P.M. on the above written date; Trustees Hale, Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present. At order of the President, the order of Public Hearings and protests was passed and the Clerk proceeded to read the report of the City Plumbing inspector for November, which was ordered filed. In the matter of the renewal of insurance on the build- ing occupied by the crater works, that used as a storage shed and the city jail building also tools in the water works; it was unanimously decided that the risks were so slight from fire that the policy covering them should be allowed to lapse. The Clerk stated that two policies covering the library building would expire in January next and asked instruction as to whether the premium should be paid from general fund or from library fund. He was instructed to inform the library Trustees that this premium should be paid by them. Yrs. Angie Van Buskirk appeared at this time and at the invitation of the President addressed the Board on the subject of enforcement of the "curfew ordinance", she sug- gested that the fire siren be sounded at 8.30 P.M. in winter and at 9.00 ?.Md. in summer as warning that minors must be off the streets, The matter was referred to the Committee on Public Health and Safety. in the matter of the appointment of a Trustee for San Joaquin Local Health District: on motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Mettler, Dr. James E. Nelson was unan- imously elected to succeed himself as Trustee from the City of Lodi for the annual term beginning January 3 - 1925. Bills amounting to $6,773.61 having been approved by the auditing committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Hale.
