HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 1, 1924104 City Hall, City of Lodi Monday, December 1-1924 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.14 o'clock P.D.; all members present. The minutes of the regular meeting of November 17th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President. There being no citizens in attendance besides members of the Board, the order of Public Hearings and Protests was passed and the Clerk proceeded to read reports and communic- ations as follows: - The report of the City Warshal for November, which .as accepted and ordered filed The Report of the Fire Chief for the same month which was also ordered to the files. A cocmunication from Mrs E. Burke in regard to a bat- tered door at 408 S. Main Street on which no action was taken, the same having been broken down by officers while arresting a criminal. The application of James Marlow for water service on the east side of Cherokee Lane, which was denied as his prem- ises are outside of the City. Ir J.A.Henning, Superintendent of Public Utilities, reported that he had had several applications for intersect- ion lights in the Barnhart Tract between Tokay and Vine St- reets; the Board took no action as the installation was est- imated to cost $1,000 and no surplus for this purpose was available at the present time. Five building permits at a total estimated cost of $2,950.00 were granted. After convening for a session as committee of the whole on the appointment of truck drivers in the Fire Department, the President announced that Matt Sherman and i'.H.Yorison had been chosen as drivers to alternate with the present driver so as to have a man on duty at each station at all times. Salaries were fixed at $150.00 per month, the pay of the present driver included. On motion of Trustee Mettler, bills amounting .to 205 X4,343.22 as approved by the auditing committee, were allowed and :warrants drawn in payment therefore. The Clerk was instructed to obtain a copy of an ord- inance recently passed in the City of Modesto which was stated to absolutely prohibit the so called carnivals from exhibit— ing in that City. No further business appearing, the Board adjourned, Attest.
