City Hall, City of Lodi
Ecnday, October 6th.,1924
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees for the first
Monday in October ,as called to order by the President at 8.15 P.I."
Trustees Hale, Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present, none
absent.
The Clerk being absent on account of illness, Trustee
Shattuck was appointed Clerk pro -tem; reading of the minutes was
unanimously passed.
On motion of Trustee 1;_ettler, seconded by Trustee Roach,
the Clerk was directed to advertise for 1,000 feet of 2f inch
fire hose and 600 feet of 14 inch hose.
Architect J.Frank Watson appeared before the Board and
recommended the acceptance of the new fire house: it was decided
to have the committee of the whole inspect the building at 10.00
o'clock A.M. of October 7th before accepting the same.
On application of J.S. "ontgoLery and L'..0.Holt, the Board
granted the District Chamber of Commerce the stun of $200.00 for
the celebration of "Potato Day" in Stockton.
L.H.Rinn, on behalf of the Lodi Vo lunteer Fire Depart-
ment applied for and was granted the sum of $250.00 to be expen-
ded in dedicating the new fire house.
kr. Rinn also a)peared and complained regarding the lunch
wagon parked at night in front of his place of business.
Report of the Fire Chief for September was read and ordered
filed.
R.a.Burson a,plied for permission to connect with the City
sewer line on Walnut Avenue; the Board decided that they had no
power to grant such connections outside the City.
The report of City Treasurer W.H.Lorenz for the quarter
ended September 30-1924 was read and referred to the Finance
Committee.
Business men on the East side of Sacramento Street between
Elm and Locust Streets applied for lights at the rear of their
premises and on motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by TrusteeRbach
the Superintendent was instructed to install the lights as request-
ed.
Informal.proposals from Ed Spiekerman and Jules Perrin for
furnishing and laying rock at the sewage disposal plant were ref-
erred to the Committee on Public Utilities.

The President was authorized to enter into a contract with
Cain & Hook for the annual supply of .1a.zda lamps required by the
City.

baths should close on October 15th„ 1924.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Mettler,
