HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 4, 192481 City :.all, City of Lodi Monday, August 4-1924 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi for the first Monday in August :las called to order by the ?resident at 8 o'clock P.M. on the above date, Trustees Hale,'ettler,Roach,Shattuck and Spooner present, none absent; The minutes of the regular meeting of July 21st were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President. G.C. Chapman and Etta R. Mc Clure a2peared before the Board and asked that larger water service be installed in Block 42; the matter was referred to the Water Superintendent. 'i.H.Thompson, President of the Board of Library Trustees and Miss Amy L. Boynton, Librarian presented the budget of the Library Board for the coming fiscal year and the same was referred to the committee of the whole for action at the time when the tax rate is to be determined; R.?l.Bentley, appeared in person and by letter in protest against the delay in answering a call on July 31st; he was assured that the delay was unforseen and would not happen again as the Cit.' would shortly have another truck available in case mechanical difficulties occurred in the one answering a call; Reports of the Fire Chief, Marshal and City Plumbing • Inspector were read and ordered filed without comment. Re -insurance of the dwelling on the Sewage Disposal Plant site in the amount of $4,000 was ordered; + to H.E.Looser and to Haydon Company, it being understood that Mr J.S. ontgomery should have a share of the insurance on the new fire house. On motion of Trustee Mettler, the plans for the fire house were amended to include a pit in the engine room at an extra cost of $48.00 President of the Board, W.A.Spooner stated that he was in receipt of a co` r.-unication from the. Local Health District asking ,hat they be permitted to place a sign :yarning against the storage of un -inspected meats at the Lodi Ice °u Cold Storage plant. There being no objection, the permission was granted. After some discussion on the Play Ground expenditures; a further allowance of $275.00 was allowed so as to finish the years program it appearing that the committee had not taken the expenditures for labor furnished by the City into consideration in the expenditure of their allowance. Seven building permits aggregating $3,750,00 were granted. Bills amounting to $10,031.27 having been approved by the finance co-rnittee were alloyed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee °settler. The City Marshal was instructed to clean up the premises at Pine and Pleasant Avenue so as to put it in rentable condition.- Ko ondition:No further business appearing, the Board adjourned, Attest:- �.
