Lonaay, April 21-1924
After adjournment sine die of the previous Board of
Trustees, the City Clerk assumed the chair and administered
the oaths of office to the newly elected Trustees, Roach and
Spooner, stating that he had previously taken his oath of
office before a Notary Public. Nominations for President of
the Board were then opened, Mr J.+.Shattuck placing the name
of Mr `7.A.Spooner before the Board, the nomination was sec-
onded by Trustee John Mettler Jr who also stored that the nomin-
ations be closed. The Clerk then put the question and none
dissenting, Mr Spooner was declared to be elected President of
the Board for the ensuing two years. Mr Spooner then took the
chair and thanked the Board for their courtesey.
Informal bids for the carpentry :pork at the baths
were then opened; bids being received from Mr B.B.Porter,
$135.00 and from Hieb Bros.$127.00. It oeing evident that the
last named party was the low bidder, he was awarded the cont-
ract by the passage of Resolution of Award No. 453 by the fol-
lowing vote:
AYES: Trustees, Shattuck,Hale,Mettler,Roach,Spooner
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None;
J. Strom appeared before the Board in the matter of
securing a place in San Joaquin County for use as a hog feed-
ing ground during the apthous fever quarrantine, he being
prohibited from hauling city �- arbae-e to Buena Vista as formerly;
Mr. J.A.Henning stated that he had a suitable site near Clements,
and the matter was left temporarily to negociations between
the latter and: r. Strom.
The President then a pointed the following standing
committees of the Board:
PUBLIC UTILITIES : Trustees, Shattuck, Hale and Met -
tier;
STREE'T'S: Trustees, Hale, Roach and Shattuck;
FINANCE & REVENUE: Trustees, Mettler, Bale & Shattuck:
PUBLIC HEALTH & SAETY: Trustees, Roach, Hale & Shat-
tuck.

The President also a; -,pointed Tnzstee Shattuck as a committee
of one to supervise the operations of the'unicipal Baths.
As the election of Er Snooner had created a vacancy
in the membership of the City Planning Co -mission, the Pres-
ident a-mointed Trustee Roach to the vacancy.
No further business a-ppearing, the Board adjourn-
ed until 8 o'clock P.M. of I?onday,April 28th.,1924.
