Monday Apr,21-1924
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi met in reg -
alar session at 8 o'clock P.M. on the data and at the place
first above written; Trustees Sale, Hickok, Mettler, Spooner
and Shattuck present, the latter presiding.
Minutes of the regular meeting of April 7th and the
ad3ourned regular meeting of April 14th were read and approved
without correction.
Mr P.H.Toney asked that Harold Street be opened from
Central Avenue to Garfield Street at a width of forty feet; he
was informed that this matter would necessarily have to be
taken up under street opening proceedings. unless Messrs Harmon
and Schmidt would offer their lands which block the street,
Ted Hinzman and J.B.Gundert protested against the
placing of sevret'pipe and street refuse on the City's lot in
..he Schroeder Tract; on motion of Trustee Spooner, this matter
:as referred to the Committee on Public Utilities;
Communications:
Applications for the position of fire truck driver
were read Brom Jack Baker and 7.C.Brier, also for a position
at the sewage farm from E. P. Schenkenberger.
Mr. C, Lee Peck presented a favorable progress report
on his activities at the sewage diseosal plant.
The League of California Municipalities asked the
Board to adopt a resolution favoring an initiative petition for
an amendment -to the state constitution providing for the div-
ision of motor vehicle fees and gasoline tax between the state
counties and municipalities and in accordance with this request,
Trustee Hale moved the adoption of Resolution No. 452, and the
same was passed and adopted by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Hale,Hickok Mettler Spooner,Shattuck
NOES: Trustees, None, ABSENT; Trustees, None;

OF , PROVIDING REGULATIONS OR FIXING RATES t AND REGULATIONS
FGR ELECTRIC LIGET & POWER" having been introduced on April
7th.,1924 was introduced for passage on motion of Trustee
Hale and finally passed, adopted and ordered printed by the
following vote: -
AYES; Trustees, Spooner,Mettler,Hale,Hickok,Shattuck.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None;
In the ratter of the options in equipment and finish
of the new fire truck, the Board decided on solid tires wood
artillery wheels, red paint, worm drive and the number "3".
Bills amounting to $4,774.94 as audited by the finance
committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee
Spooner.
Trustee Spooner stated that he had been notified by
the County Highway Department that the Terminous Road storm
drain was again leaking. No action taken, as water in canal was
deemed too high to make repairs feasible at this time.
This being the first meeting of the Board since the
General Municipal .thlection of April 14th.,1924 the Board
Rroceeded to canvass the votes received and after doing so,
Trustee Mettler introduced Resolution No. 451 -

� RZAS , a general municipal election was held and .
conducted in the City of Lodi, on Londay, the 14th day of April
1924, as required by law,
21D IM—MRIEAS, it appears that notice of said election
was duly and le?ally given, that voting precincts were properly
established, that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and can-
vassed, and the returns thereof, made and declared in time,.
form and manner as required by the general laws of the state
governing elections in cities of the fifth and sixth class,
AND ',T—MFILS, the board of trustees of said City met
at the council chamber of the board on Monday, the 21st day of
April,1924, to canvass the returns of said election and install
the newly elected officers, as a result of which the board
finds that the nimber of votes cast, the names of the persons
voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as herein
stated, now therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
That said reg+flar municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of Lodi on 14_onday, the 14th clay of April,
1924, in time, form and manner as required by law;
That there were four voting precincts established
for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a con-
solidation of the regular precincts established for holding
general state and county elections as follows:
"Consolidated Voting Precinct 'A'" comprising state
and county precincts numbers one, two , three and four,
"Consolidated Voting Precinct IBI" comprising state
and co,=ty precincts five, six and seven,
"Consolidated Voting Precinct 'C'" comprising state
and county precincts numbers nine, ten and eleven,
"Consolidated Voting Precinct 'D'" comprising state
and county precincts numbers eight and twelve.
That the whole number of votes cast in said City

That the names of the persons voted for, the offies.
for which the; were voted, the number of votes given in each
Precinct to each of said persons, together with the whole numb-
er of votes which they received in the entire City, are as

RRSOLVEM t terefore, that at said Seneral municipal
election J. 3. ROACH was elected to the office of TRUSTEE
of the City of Lodi for the FULL TZMW of four years;
ALSO, that W. A. SPOOITM was elected to the office of
TRUST ..i of the City of Lodi for the +"JLL THIN of four years;
ALSO, that J. F. BLPsyLY was elected to the office of
CLM3 of said City for tha term of four years;
ALSO, that W. H. LO?21;Z was elected to the office of
TRMSURRR of said City for the term of four years.
The Clerk shall enter on the records of the Board a
statement of the result of the election showing (1) The
I whole number of votes cast in said City; (2) The names
s of the persons voted for, and the propositions voted on; (3)
{ The office which each person •aas voted for; (4) the n,m'ber
of votes giver at each precinct for each of said persons
and for and against each of said propositions; and (5)
The number of votes given in said City to each of said
persons, and for arid against each of such propositions.

The Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each
of such persons elected a certi-ficate of election, sign-
ed by him and duly authenticated; he shall also irmose
the constitutional oath of office and have them subscribe
thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective
offices to which they have been elected.
The foregoing resolution was then passed and duly
adopted upon roll call by the following vote:-

The foregoing minutes were then read by the Clerk and
