HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 3, 192448 city Hall, City of Lodi Mon,,.ay, March 3rd. ,1924 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi for the first iionday in Larch was called to order by Pres- ident J.'?.Shattuck at 8.05 P.M. on the date first above written, Trustees Hale, Hickok, Mettler Spooner and Shattuck present, none absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of =ebruary 18th,1924 were read ap-proved as read and so endorsed by the Presi ent. This being the date set by notice duly published and post- ed, for the reception of sealed proposals for doing the :pork ord- ered in Resolution of Intention No. 68 on Central Avenue, south of Vine Street, the Clerk reported but one proposal received and the Board proceeded to publicly open and declare the same, it being the proposal of Clark & Henery Construction Company at the following prices: - For Grading $ 0.02 per sau ft. For Paving $ 0.185 For Curbs $ 0.48 per lin ft. For Gutters $ 0.25 per squ ft. The price being satisfactory, the Board awarded this con- tract to the sole bidder by the passage of Resolution of Award No. 46, as filed now in the office of the City Clerk, by the follcuing vote:- AYS: Trustees, Spooner, Hickok, dale, 'Mettler, Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, NONE. ABSENT: Trustees, NONE. under the head of Communications and Notices: The Clerk read a letter from the City Planing Coy-riission advising tree planting at the Sewage Disposal Plant Site and the prohibition of automobile parking in the City Park. The letter was ordered filed. John C. Bewley finely offered the use of his lot at the south-west corner of School and Elle Streets for use as a mark but as he could give no assurance of the time for which the City might use the land, the Board was not able to accept his offer. Re torts from City -Marshal Christesen and =oundinaster R.E.Totrnsley were received, read and ordered filed. The petition of Anders Bo lander et al desiring to have the sidewalk space on-Jashington Street south of Tokay street widened by dedicatig two feet of ad#acent properties for side- :calk space and allowing a two -foot tree space at the curb edge, ,vas ref erred back to aetiti oners as a uiaanimous 'frontage would have to acquiesce to the plan in order to make walks on a -- uniform line; The alley in Block 41, ?:okelumne, was named Taylor Court by the adoption, unanimously of Resolution No; 447.
