HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 20, 1926206 City Hall, City of Lodi Monday, December 20-1926 A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi was held commencing at 8.03 o'clock PX. on the date first above written, Trustees Bale, Roach, Shattuck, :7eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of December 6th.,1926 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President. Ralph Fountain appeared in application for a lower rate on electricity used at -his restaurant on West Pine Street: stat- i.g that he had changed from gas to electricity for practic- ally his whole equipment but that due to the size of his coup- led load the present rates made the use of electricity prohib- itive.After some discussion, the matter of a different rate for small power users was referred to Mr. J.A.Henning Superinten- dant of Public Utilities, report thereon to be made at the next meeting of the Board. Mr B. Brulez applied for sewer installation in Forrests Addition bat he being outside the City: such service was denied until these lots were annexed to:the City. Mr Brulez pranised to sound out his neighbors regarding annexation. On motion of Trustee ;7eihe, seconded by Trustee Roach, the City Marshal was instructed to lengthen he tool shed in the rear of the City Hall so as to accomodate street machinery and the dog pound. The Clerk read a lengthy report of the first meeting of the legislative committee of the League of CaliforniaMunicip- alities held in San Francisco December 4th.,1926. The City Planning Commission submitted recamnendations as to an initial zoning ordinance and also as to gradingthe newly acquired Lawrence Park. At the order of the Preent none dissenting Monday, January 10th.,1926 at 8 o'clock P.M. was set as the date for meeting with the Planning Conrnission for consideration of the zoning ordinance, the Board to meet as Carunittee of the whole on the same-day at 2.00 o'clock P.M. and view theroposed commercial zone. The grading of Lawrence Park and planting of trees thereon was referred to the Canmittee of Streets and Parks in consultation with the City Engineer. Four building permits aggregating $2,250 were ordered granted. Bilis, covering uayrolls to the 15th. inst. were audited, allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shattuck seconded by Trustee Roach. The a,pointment of a water inspector was discussed but no action taken; Trustee Roach made a verbal report of his invest- igations in the matter of uniforms for police officers and the matter was left in the hands of the President of the Board to secure the experience met with in other shall cities where the officers are uniformed. On motion of Trustee Hale, the Board a�,journed until the date of their next meeting, Januar 3rd.,19 Attest:- 1f-' City Clerk.
