HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 6, 1926204 City Hall, City of Lodi Monday, December 6th.,1926 This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of .the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.05 o'clock on the date first above written, Trustees Hale, Roach Shattuck, ':Weihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the last regular meeting, held November 15th. 1926 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President. C.J.M ill and several other residents on Harold Street West of Garfield Street appeared in regard to opening and draining this portion of Harold Street. It appearing that the street had been opened for a period ofears as a public thoroughfare, on motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach, the City Attorney was directed to take such proceedings as might be necessary to quiet title to the undeeded portions. Albert Newman appeared in regard to the laying of water and sewer mains in Block 41 of the Lodi Barnhart Tract, stat- ing that he had procured and filed the necessary easments. On motion of Trustee Weiheseconded by Trustee Roach, the Super- intendent of Public Utilities was authori-zed to extend the present six inch main on Garfield Street to Central Avenue and Concord Street, continuing thence on Central Avenue to the center line of Lot 41, thence '?lest with two inch pipe to the land of Mr Newman. W. J. Robinson Jr. and Elmer Shinn appeared in the natter of the application of Stockton-Mokeiumne Canal Company's app- lication to the State Railroad Canmission for permission to discontinue service, stating that the City was vitally inter- ested in the continuance of canal service as a means of disposal of sewage effluent and storm craters as well as in the supposed lowering of water levels should all Mokelunne River water be diverted at Lancha Plana by East Bay ;Water District. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Veihe. the City Attor- ney ,:as requested to file a protest on behalf of the Ciey and also appear in person before the State Railroad Commission on January 19th.,1927. Christ Boettcher and f.S.Robbins appeared in furtherance of a petition filed by Martha L.Mueller and others remonstrat- ing against the application of John Frey for permission to erect a commercial garage on Lot 4 in Block 25. City of Lodi. On motion of Trustee Shattuck seconded by Trustee Roach the application,(No.572), was held up pending the adoption of an ordinance classifying the City into zones. The application of B.J.Neff for permission to install a gasoline pump at curb at 217 North Sactamento Street was denie d in accordance with a previous decision regarding these pumps in the business district. Reports of the City Marshal and the Pounclnaster were rec- eived, read and ordered filed. Seven building permits aggregating $4,400 were granted. On motion of Trustee Shattuc1 . seconded by Trustee Weihe the Clerk was directed to notify the City Planning Commission that the Board desired to meet with them in joint session at same convenient date in Jahuary and discuss a zoning ordinance. It appearing that one George -Chapman had filed suit to quiet title to a certain piece of land north of and adjacent to Block 42, Mokelumne wherein City of Lodi was named as one of N5 the defendents, and it also appearing that the City claimed no title to the land involved the City Attorney was author- ized^ to file a disclaimer by the passage of Resolution No.506 by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, Shattuck,Weihe, Hale, Roach and Spooner. NCO: None. ABSENT: None. 203 Bills in the. amount of $11,34.56 as approved by the auditing committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shattuck, Seconded by Trustee Roach. On motion. of Trustee eihe, the Board adl'ounied until the date of their neat regular meeting.
