City Hall, City of Lodi
Monday, November 15-1926.
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.05 o'clock P.M
on the date first above written, all members of the Board present
on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November lst.,1926
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
Mr. R. ',Veber, a contracting plumber appeared and desired
that certain conflicting sections of the local plumbing ordinance
be interpreted especially as to the size of vent vies to be
used. It being the opinion of the City Attorney that the clause
of this ordinance specifying that at least one four inch vent
must be installed in every structure would prevail over preceed-
ing sections, the City Plumbing Inspector was directed to so
enforce the ordinance.
A communication from the President of the League of Calif-
ornia,municipalities calling attention to a meeting of the Traffic
Officials of municipalities at Fresno on the 18th. was ordered
filed without comment.
A communication from the Superintendent of the Southern
Pzcific Company acknowledging receipt of the application of the
Board'for a permanent flagman at Elm Street was also ordered
filed.
The application of George Krieger for a roving lunch -wagon
license was denied.
Applications for building permits from Elbert McS. Brown
and Briggs E. Porter were granted conditionally; the proposed
structures being in the fire zone, the Board adhered to their -
previous rulings in such matters that the supporting members of
non-combustible walls and roofs must also be of non-combustible
materials. Applications for other structures amounting to $42000
were allowed.
Traffic Officer C.O.Jackson appeared before the Board
in regard to daily patrol of the City's streets, stating that
he could supply an additional man in the person of Albert M.
Chanpius with whom he would render daily service.to the Citys
of. Lodi and Tracy. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by
Trustee Hale, the Clerk was directed to prepare and have executed
a contract with Mr. Jackson for the extended service, it being
understood that compensation insurance would be' born by the
contractor.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded byTrustee Weihe,
bills amounting to $2,122.25 as approved by he finance committee
were allowed and ordered paid.

On motion of Trustee 'yeihe. the Board adjourned.
