adjourned regular cession at 8 o'clock "u' on the date Iirst
above written, ''r':stee3 ::ale, Roach, S^attuck, ;!eine and Spooner
present, none absent.
Minutes of the meeting of :lay 17th., were read and approved.
E. ;J Rathbun and Frea Hain appeared in complaint against
the dust from Chestnut Street as aff-ecti:g their properties on
South Sacramento Street. The '.":atter of caring'' frog the street so
as to obviate the nuisance :gas referred to tne.Street Superintendent.
This being the date set for the reception of sealed bids
for the pipe for the proposed California Street Sewer; the Clerk
reported t70 bids and the Board proceeded to publicly open, canvass
and declare the same, being as f ollows:-

It anpearinn that the bid of H. C '.uddox Company rias the 1o:7 -
est and best, award for the pipe was made to that Company by the
passage of Resolution of Award No. 497 by the following vote:-

NOES: Trustees, ?one, ABSENT: TRuste29, None.
The following named aoulied for permits to store gasoline
in lots exceeding two hundred'_-allons in underground tanks:-
J. D. Christner, 21 :fest Oak Street, application granted
On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach.
Chas. F. Brackett, 12 S. Stockton Street, application laid
over as this _part;* contemplated the installation of a CUTb pump.
Trustee .feihe, seconded or Trustee Shattuck, Moved that the ap-
plication

plication be denied and aster discussion, on advice of the Ciuy
Attorney. Trustee 7eihe, with consent of second, withdrew the
motion and at the order of the ?resident, none dissenting. the
application -was tabled .ending the adoption of a general ordinance
covering curb pumps

The petition of s.B.Lawrence et al for installation Of light-
ing standaras on Lockeford and Stockton Stteets was referred to
the Superintendent of ?ublic ' tilities.
On motion of Trustee aha tuck, seconded b', Trustee Roach,
he Citi Attorney .;as directed to prepare are omen hent t0 exist-
ing ordinances governing the sale of light and power so as to
give commercial users of water and air iieatir€ apparatus the
benefit of a lower connected lead rating.
