The minutes of the regular mee tit of Lay 3rd. 1926 ;were read, aoproved aa read and so endorsed by the President. This being the date set by resolution and by notice duly published for the reception of sealed proposals for the improve- ment of portions of Lockeford Stockton, _v.ain and 'Washington* Streets as undertaken iursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 70, the Clerk announced that three proposals had been received up to the hour of 8 o'clock P.M. and t ne Board proceeded to publicly open and declare the bids received, which were as follows: - Grade. Pave. Gutters. Curbs. California Construction Co. 0.029 0.209 0.30 0.60 Clark & Henery Const. Co. 0.02 0.185 0.25 0.43 .waren Construction Co. 0.025 0.205 0.28 0.65 It apreari.g that the bid of Clark & h'_e ner? Construction Company was the lowest and beat bid received, that company was awarded the contract by the passage of Resolution of Award No.70D by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, ;ale, Shattuck, Roach, Weihe & Spooner. NOES: Trustees, None. ABS i;T : Trustees, None. A co:. unication addre_sed to the City Recorder from the District Attorney and :he reply thereto from the City Attorney, relating to the disosition of fines for violations of state lairs :las read for the information of the Board. Four building'oermits for structures to cost $6,100.00 were allowed; the acolication of California Transit Company to erect a frame toilet" o: Bast Elm Street was denied as being within the fire limits. The application of A. Krieger for permission to use a oarkin , space on School Street for a pop -corn wagon was denied for lack of jurisdiction. The Board informally discussed the damage done to side- walk on the Esat side of School Street at Pine Street .by bursted crater pipes and at the su_zestion of Trustee Weihe, the Clerk :was instructed to try and obtain a settlement on the bse of the City standing 2,1 of the cost of replacement and Urs. J. B. Cory the balance. In the matter of the improvement of Pine Street from Hutch- ins Street to Rose Street: the Clerk reported no protests filed and the Board proceeded to order the work by the _nassa..gge. of Resol- ution Ordering the Work Nc. 71-0 by the follo:vin. vote:- -AYES: Trustees, Shattuck.Leihe.Hale,Roach and Spooner. NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: None. Cn motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach, the Superintendent of Public Utilities was directed to install a 2" pipe connection on the iedtside of the Bath House and install two f __t� f got ,leng as o_rfire hose as well as a fire eatingaisher•in the o=rice.
