Monday, April 19th.,1926
This regular meeti of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi was called to order at 8.10 o'clock P.M. on the above
date, Trustees Hale,Mettler,Roach,Shattuck and Spooner present,
none absent.
Minutes of the regular meeting of April 5th.,1926 and
the adjourned regular meeting of April 8th. were read, approv-
ed as read and so endorsed by the President.
PUBLIC HSARINGS-
The Clerk read a petition sired by fifty eroeerty owners
asking that the proposition for the purchase of Lodi Plational
Bank Building be re-subnitted to the electors of the City; on
motion of Trustee Shatt.ick, seconded by Trustee Hale, the .pet-
ition wee ordered tabled.
The finance comittee having approved bills in the total
amount of $3 093.28, the same were ordered paid on motion .of .
Trustee Mettler, seconded by Trustee Shattuck.
The City Attorney reported that proper deeds to the lands
about to be acquired i or the opener of California Street .from
Lockeford Street to Daisy Avenue had. been prepared and the _
amounts due to onners from district funds would be paid upon their
execution; the Board approved of the deeds as drawn and accept-
ed the lands for use as a public street by the passaga of Resol-
ution No. 496 " Resolution'A_proving Deeds and Accepting Lands
Described Therein from Angelo Castelo, Maria Focacca, Andrew
Kutlick and Menzel Bros." by the folloein vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Rale.Shattuckjl ettIer,Roach and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None.
Four building permits a re;ating $14,250.00 Frere granted
on applications therefore.
The Board then_ proceeded to open the returns and canvass
the result of the votes cast at the regular municipal election
held Monday, April 12th. 1926 with the results hereinafter set
forth in Resolution No. 495 :-

That there were four voting precincts established, consist-
ing of a consolidation of the regular voting precincts establish-
ed for holding state and county elections as follows: -

ion :-
J. 71. SHATTUCIC was elected to the ofice of Trastee for
the Lull term of four years;
F. C. 1ALE was elected to the offi^e of Trustee for the
full tem of four years

That neither proposition No. 1 nor No. 2 were adopted.
The Clerk shall im.nediately mslke and deliver unto each
of said elected Trustees a certificate of election, shall

of Trastees being all w
resent, after adjour ent as set forth
in the preceeding minu.es, took their seats and the Clerk
delivered .into each of them proper certificates of election
and imposed the constitutional oath of office. He thereupon
called'the meetipg to order. On motion of Trustee Shattuck,
seconded by Trustee Roach, 47.A. Spooner was no4minated for re-
election to the Presidents chair and on unanimous vote he
was so elected. President Spooner then took the chair and'pro-
ceeded with the appointments of standing carmnittees of the Board:

J. C. Burson then -appeared before the Board and made inform -
.1 a--�Dlicatio : 'or rebate anal refund of tax -es paid by Bethel
Tabernacle, a reli-ious corporation, in the year 1925 on a lot
at the corns of C arch & Locust Streets statim that the Board
of Coe. -qty Super7istirs had refunded County Taxes. The Clerk
objected to ,:he statement t^,a.t tax had been assessed in error,
stating that the lands had been legally assessed to three sep-
arate owners as ;hey appeared of record March 2nd.,1925 and
that Bethel Tabe--macle did not acquire title until the 10th of
the same month. At the order of the President, none dissenting,
the matter was referred to the City Attorney.
C.A. Gerlach President of Lodi Volunteer Fire Depertnent
appeared in behalf of J.W.La.ndback and l'.H.Rodacker, Assist-
arnt Chiefs of the local department whose tray for the quarter
ended December 513t. 1925 lad been withel$ on account of report-
ed absence f rcr; she City. YTr. Gerlach :las instructed to have these
men file clans rith the City and�each would be considered upon
its merits and in the li ht of his statements.
The Clem submitted the offer of Miss Mary A. Brant to sell
to the City for street purposes the nest 20. feet of Lot 1 in

€ :westerly continuation, of -Harold Street. The matter was referred

In the matter of the im-orovement of that part of Pine St.
betWeen Hutchins & Rose Streets; the City Engineer offered plans
and specifications and the sme were apnrove� and adopted 'op :-
