This meeting of the Board o, Trustees, adjourned from
the regular meeting of '_'arch 15th.,1924 was called to order by
the ?resident at 3.10 o'clock.:. on t: -ie above date, Trustees

were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President
In the matter of the 'petition submitting a proposed
ordinance relating to the keeping of dogs ?r_thin the City which
was filed with the Clerk of the Board on the 15th day of :arch
and at the direction of the Board, referred to him for certif-
icate as to the sufficiency and authenticity of the napes
a?pended thereto; the Clerk presented his written report stating
that the petition had been carefully checked and that of the
two hundred twenty seven navies appended to the petition, fifty-
eight had been found not qualified to sign, leaving one hundred
sixty-nine valid signatures. As the tota3. City registration at
the date of filing was Cne Thousand Bight Hundred Thirty-two, as
certified by the County Clerk, the City Clerk reported the pet-
ition as insufficient.
On notion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee
Mettler, the Ci .y Clerk :has instructed to print on the ballots
at the fort .coning election, the question, "Shall licensed dogs
be allowed to run at large in the City of Lodi"
In the ratter of the improvement of _cortions of Locke -
ford Street, Stockton Street and ':iashington Street as undertaken ,; G
pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. t9, the Clerk reported
that an error had been made in describing the boundaries of the
district to be assessed and Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee
Hale subrei =ted 'Resolution No. 490 rescinding all _proceedings
heretofore taken in this matter. This resolution was paased by
the following vote:-

On motion of Trustees 'Mettler, seconded by Trustee
Roach, '..r. C. 2. Taylor was anointed Deputy City eseasor for

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 70
RESOLVED. That It is the inten-
tion of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi, California, to order the
fallowing work to be done and im-
,rovement to be made in said City,
to -wit:
That Lockeford street in said City
of Lodi. from a line drawn parallel to
and 13 feet easterly from the east-
erly property line of Sacramento
Street measured at right angles
therefrom continuously to the wester-
ly property line of the Woman's Syn-
dicate Addition to Lodi (which last
mentioned line Is also the easterly
property line of Block 3 of the Law.

property line of Lockeford Street to
the southerly property line of Law-
rence Avenue; and that Washington
Street from the northerly property

nus, including all portions of said
streets within the above described
limits, be Improved as follows, to -
wit:
(1) By grading the roadway and
curb and gutter spaces of said per -
Vons of said streets where any of the
Improvements bereinafter mentioned
are required to be constructed;
(2) By constructing along each
side of the roadway and around the
returns in the lntersectfons of all the
said portions of the said streets. hy
draulle concrete curbs and gutters of
the combined type;
(3) By paving the roadways of
said portions of said streets between
the gutter lines with a pavement
consisting of an asphaltic concrete
base two and one-half (2t,.) inches in
thickness and a Warrenite Wearing
Surface one and one -halt (lig,) Inches
in thickness.
Excepting from the above proris-
ions for curb and gutter construction.
that portion of Lockeford Street ly-
tng between the westerly property
line of }lain Street and a line drawn
parallel to and 125 feet westerly
therefrom, along each side of the
roadway of which portion Of Locke -
ford street there is to be constructed,
in lieu of the regular combined con-
crete curb and -utter, a concrete gut-
ter having a width of 21 inches, oc-
cupying the full area of the curb and
.,Utter space and having its lowest
line (flow line) lyiag along the regu-
lar
egular lire established for face of curb
line;
and excepting also from the above
provision as t0 curb and gutter that
portion of Lockeford Street lying be-
tween the last herein described ex-
cepted portion and the westerly ter-
minations of this Improvement where
there shall be no curb and gutter
constructed, the pavement herein
provided for to extend for the full
width between curb lines, being the
width as shown on the plan, and to
be supported at its sides by wooden
headers provided for in the specifica-
tions hereinafter referred to;
Excepting, however, from all of the
herein above described work any of
the same within the area described
as follows, namely: the area between
the rails of any railroad track now
existing in any of the said portions
Of streets above described, and also
the areas lying between the said
rails and Hues drawn parallel there-
to and two (2) feet distant at right
angles therefrom an each side of any
Of said tracks, it being the intention
hereby to except any of the areas
now or formerly required by law to
be kept in order or repair by any
person, firm or corporation having
railroad tracks therein;
And excepting also from all the
herein above described work any of
said work already done to the lines
and grades herein and is the plans
and specifications hereinafter re-
ferred to, specified, and also except -
tag any work shown on plans to be
omitted.
All of said work to be done to
grades other than, and differin; from
the established official grades, and
said different grades to which said
%work Is to be done are as shown On
the profiles which are part of the
plans hereinafter referred to.
Reference is hereby made to the
plans and specifications heretofore
prepared by the City Engineer of
said City and adopted by the Board
of Trustees of said City by its Res-
olution Adopting Plans and Specifi-
cations No. 70 A. and now on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said
City, for the grades to whici% the
herein described work and Improve-
ment is to be done. for the location
at which, the manner in which, and
the materials of which, the said wor'.c
Is to be performed. and said plans
and specifications are hereby made a
part of this Resolution of Intention.
Attention is hereby called to the
Warrenite License 'fixture Agree-
ment for California, executed by War,
rein Brothers Company, the owners
and holders of United States Patents
covering the said Warrenite pave-
ment, on February 26. 1926, which
agreement is on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Lodi,
and is hereby expressly referred to.
And said Board of Trustees does
hereby determine and declare that
said proposed work and improve-
ment is of more than local or ordina-
ry public benefit, and will affect and
benefit the lands and district herein-
after described, which said district
is hereby declared to be the district
benefitted by said work and Improve-
ment, and to have the exterior boun.
daries hereinafter described as the
boundaries thereof; that. therefore,
the entire cost and expenses of said
work and improvement shall be, and
are hereby made, chargeable against,
and shall be assessed upon said lands
and district, which district Is within
the City of Lodi, County of San Joa-
quin. State of California, and is par-
ticularly bounded and described as
follows, to -wit:
Commenting at the northeasterly
corner of Block 8 of the Lawrence
Homestead Addition In the City o:
Lodi, California, and running south-
erly and along the easterly line of
said Block 8 to the southeasterly
corner of said block; thence continu-
ing southerly along the same line
produced to the southerly line of
Lockeford Street; thence southerly
on a direct line to the northeasterly
corner of the Albright Addition;
thence southerly along the easterly
line of said Albright addition (the
same being the westerly property
line of Central Avenue) to an inter-
section with the southerly line of an
alley, the said southerly line of alley
being also the northerly line of
KrolI's Addition to Lod(; thence west-
erly along said southerly line of the
alley and continuing westerly along
rhe southerly line of the said
alley extending through Block 42
Of the City of Lodi to a point on the
easterly property line of Washington
Street; thence westerly crossing
Washington Street on a direct line to
the intersection of the westerly prop-
erty line of Washington Street with
the southerly line of the alley extend.

Lodi; thence west along the last
mentioned southerly line of alley to
the northwesterly corner of Lot 6 in
said BlocIc 31: thence southerly along
the westerly line of said Lot 6 to the
northerly property line of Locust
Street; thence westerly along the
northerly property line of Locust
Street to the southwesterly corner of
Lot 6 in Block 30 of the City of
I.odl; thence northerly along the

30 to the southerly line of the alley

Said Board of Trustees hereby fur-
ther declares that all streets, ave-
nges, lanes. alleys. courts and places
and public ways contained within the
above described district, the same be-
ing in use in the performance of a
public function as such, shall be
omitted from the assesment hereaf-
ter to be made to cover costs and ex-
penses of said work and Improve-
ment

maps filed with and on file in the of -

the titles and filed as of the dates
hereinafter next set forth:
Roman's Syndicate Addition is
as per map entitled "The Wom-
an's Syndicate Addition to Lodi",
Fled 'March 31, 1383.
Lawrence Homestead Addition
is as per map entitled "Map No.
2 Lawrence Homestead Addi-
tion", filed august 10, 1922.
Albright Addition is as per
map entitled '.Albright Addition",
filed December 15, 1920.
City of Lodi is as per map
entitled "'Iokelumne", filed Au-
gust 25, 1869.
Kroll's Addition is as per map
entitled "Kroll's Addition to
Lodi", filed august 25, 1903.
Notice is hereby given that serial
bonds to represent unpaid assess-
ments and bear Interest at the rate
of seven per cent (7 per cent) per
annum will be issued hereunder in
the manner provided by the "Im.
provement Bond Act of 1915;' as
amended, the last installment of
which bonds shall mature nine years
from the second day of July next sue-
ceeding ten months from their date.
Except as hereinabove otherwise
provided for the Issuance of said se-
rial bonds, all of the above proposed
work shall be done in pursuance of
an act of the Legislature of the State
of California, designated the "Im-
provement Act of 1911;' approved
April 7th, 1911, and amendments
thereto.
Notice Is hereby given that on the
96th day of April, 1926, at eight
o'clock P. M. at the regular meeting
place of said Board of Trustees, to.
wit, the. City Hall, in said City, any
and all persons having any objections
to the proposed work and improve-
ment, or to the grades at which said
work is to be done, or to the district
to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof, may appear before
said Board of Trustees and show
cause why said proposed Improve-
ment should not be carried out in ac-
cordance with this resolution.
The Clerk of said City is hereby
directed to cause this Resolution of
Intention to be published twice in
The Lodi News, a tri -weekly news-
paper published and circulated In
said City and hereby designated for
that ourpose by the Board of Trus-
tees, there being no daily newspaper
published in said City.
The Superintendent of Streets of
said City is hereby directed to post
notices of the passage of this Reso-
lution of Intention In the manner and
form required by law.
I hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution of Intention was duly and
regularly passed and adopted by the
Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi
at a regular meeting thereof held on
the fifth day of April, 1926, by the
following vote:
