heard, the order of Public Hearings .:as passed by unanimous
consent.

purporting to be a referendum aeainst the passage of Ordin-
acs's No. 153 - The Clerk filed a written report in which he

City Attorrev Had prepared an ordinance to replace Ordinance
No. 153 which woui8. correct any harsh features in the latter,
the Board unanimously decided that -it would serve no Purpose
to place the matter of the adoption of Ordinance No. 153
u:on the ballot for the election of April 12th even though
the petitions had been sufficient and on motion of Trustee
Hale, seconded by Trustee Roach, Ordinance No.
154 which
would annul Ordinance No. 153 :,as introduced and by the same
motion, laid over for not less than five days. The motion
carried unanimously.

In furtherance of the et it ion of Veteran's . elfare Board
of the State of California for cancellation of taxes assessed
against a certain lot on North Church Street standing of rec-
ord on March 2nd. ,1924 as the property of Ursula 3. F.aydon, the
Clerk read decisions of the Atorr.ey General's office in this
regard, and tender of the installment of street assessment
having been made and the personal property taxes paid; the
tax and penalty assessed against this lot ;were oraered can-
celled by the passage of Resolution No. 489 by the following
vote:-

should avail itself of the offer and on motion of Trustee
Roach, seconded by Trustee Uettler the City Engineer was •
instructed to Preare pians, specifications and diagrams
