CITY SAL CITY OF LODI
February 1-1926
This rem lar meeting of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Lodi :las called to. order at 8.10 o'clock ?.M. by
the ?resident; Trustees Hale, :ettler, Roach and Spooner pres-
ent; Trustee Shattuck absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 13th.,
1925 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the
?resident.
"r. 7, 1. E. ,_.n when appeared and addressed the Board
relative to the failure of storm drain sewers to carry off
,rater in the alleys in Block 16, Sacraiento,Oak,3chool and
Pine Streets as he had suffered considerable dpr~age from the
storm of the preceeding Sunday night. The matter of increasing
the size of present drains was referred to the City Engineer
and the Superintendent of Public Utilities.
Reports from the Plumbing Inspector and from the
City Earshal for the month of January were read and ordered
filed.
The Clerk read a petition fron several residents in
the northwest part of the City urging mediate action in the
installation of sanitary sewers; as this matter hinges on the •
Completion of proceedings for the opening of California Street,
no immediate action was possible.
In the matter of the opening of California Street
as undertaken_ June l5th.,1925 under Resolution of Intention
Pio. 481 - the City Attorney submitted and the Clerk read: -

RESOLUTION APPROVING REPORT OF CallISSIONERS .
and the said resolution las thereupon adopted on motion of
Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Roach by the following, vote:
AYES: Trustees, Hale,Roach Mettler and Saooner.
NOES: Trustees, None; ABSNT: Trustee Shattuck
(Note- The above mentioned.resolution as approved by the
?resident of the Board and attested by the -City Clerk is
on file in the office of the City Clerk together with other
proceedings therewith undertaken'
In the matter of the petition of Veteran's Welfare
Board of the State of California for cancellation of assess-
ment of taxes in the year 1925 against a lot on north Church
Street acquired by this Board in August of the same year; the
Clerk was directed to write the escrow officer of the Veterans
:/elfare Board and advise him that, as the tax had been legally

assessed against tae owner as of Ya.rch 2nd. ,'923 and no claim
- for exemption filed within the time allowed by law, the prov-
isions of Section 3804-A of the Political Code did not seem
J. a_ply and the suggested remedy is that the '� etera-�s • elfare
Board pay the total tag under protest and submit a claim to
tie Board of Trustees of this City for a refund of the amount
paid less any amoa_nt due as street assessment.

to the City for one year.
One building permit in the amount of $2,000,00 was
al'_o 3d and ordered granted.
Bills in the amount of $9,929.88 as audited and
approved by the finance Cozmittee were ordered paid on motion
of Trustee :-sale, seconded by Trustee :.Mettler.

noon at the nest municipal election to be held in said City on

Block 16, original City* of Lodi, and improvements thereon.,
