Monday, December 21-1925
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
Cityof Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.10 P.M.
on he date and at.the place first above written, Trustees
Hale,yettler,Roach Shattuck and Spooner present, none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of December 7th
and the special meeting of December llth.,1925 were read,approv-
ed as read and so endorsed by the President.
Mr Sam Backman and is 1.H. Cutts filed petitions for
the improvement of Stockton Street from the north line of Loc-
ust Street to the northerly City limits and for that part of
Lockeford Street lying between the west line of Stoc4ton St-
reet and the esat line of Washington Street. Petitions were
referred to the City Clerk for checking and report at the next
meeting of the Board.
Foster & Kleiser, verbally and by letter applied for
permission to erect three illboards, one or. Cherokee Lane 100
tt. south of Lodi Avenue, one at the south-west corner of Elm
and School Streets and another on West Elm Street 59 feet east
of Sacramento Street. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded
by Trustee Mettler, the request was granted.
The Clerk read a letter from Dr. B.Guy.Williams
Secretary of the Board of Library Trustees advising them that
l r. L. S. Channell, a member of the Board had removed from the
City and that there had been no appointments to the member-
ship of the Board for someears. The President appointed the
following to be members of the Library Board:- Wilson H.Thamp-
son; E.Guy Williams; George Le Feber; H. F. Ellis and George
L. Meissner. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee
Roach, the -appointments were confirmed.
On application, the Lodi Realty Board was granted
permission to use the council chambers for class purposes on
Tuesday.ni;hts; the State Reclamation Board was granted the
permission to use the same roams on January 8th.,1925.
The application of Bert Cole et al for installation
of. intersection lights on Stockton Street at Vaple,Redwood and
Vine Streets met with favor and on motion of Trustee Shattuck,
seconded bv Trustee Hale, Superintendent Henning was directed
to unstall'the lights as requested.
Four building permits, three garages and one dwell-
ing to be erected at an estimated cost of SI,500.00 were grant-
ed; the application of bars Anna C.Heil to erect a frame garage
at 112 W.I.ocust Street was denied as this location is in the
fire limits.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Mettler,
ORDINANCE No_ 153 " An Ordinance Prohibiting Dogs Running at
Large and Repealing those Portions of Existing Ordinances Imp-
osing a License on -Dogs" was introduced, read and by the same
motion, laid over for not less than five days.
In the further discussion of sewer troubles in Block
15, Superintendent Henning recommended that two man -holes in
Church -Street be lowered so as to provide an un -interrupted
flow in the 10 inch sewer in this street, thereby permitting
better dra inage in the cross sewers. On motion of Trustee
Shattuck,seconded by Trustee Roach the work was ordered.
Bills inthe amount of $,158.96 as approved by the
finance committee were ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shatt-
uck, seconded by Trustee Hale.
