City Hall, City of Lodi
Monday, December 7-1925
This regular meeti of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi vas called to order by the President at 8.05 P.M.
Trustees Hale, Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present,
none absent.
The minutes of the recular meeting of November 16th.,
1925 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Pres-
ident.
No persons appearing at this time, the order of public

hearings and protests as passed by unanimos consent.
A.E.Gordon applied by letter for the installation
of 220 volt electric service at his new building in process of
erection at #7 N. School Street and installation of this service
;,as ordered.
The Clerk read an application of Security Building
and Loan Association for water and light service at #548 South
Sacramento Streit, premises liable for bills in the amount of
$109.70 incurred b� John & Lydia Boss. As applicant had acqq-
uired title throne foreclosure of a deed or trust, the CiCy
Attorney advised t' hat witholding service in an endeavor to make
the present owner liable for past bills would be futile, the
Clerk was ordered to charge oaf the above amount on his records
and receive the application for service.
In the matter of the purchase of accounting machinery
for the grater and light department under call for bids dated
November 20th, there being but one proposal received, that of
Burroughs Adding Machine Company, the Board rejected all bids
and decided to purchase in the open market by he passage of
Resolution No. 486 by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Hale,Shattuck,Mettler,Boach,Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustees, None.
ilo further action was taken in the matterof the adopt-
ion of Ordinance No .151, granting Southern Pacific and Central
Pacific Companies a franchise for spur tracks on Main Street.
The Clerk was directed to cancel the policy of Mary-
land Casulty Company covering volunteer firemen and enter into
a similar Policy with State Compensation Insurance Fund.
Ordinance No.152, An Odinance Licensing All Kinds of
Business in the City of Lodi was discussed at length but as
none of the proponents of such an ordinance were in attendance,
final passage was deferred until a later date.
The report of the City Marshal for the month of Novem-
her was received, read and ordered filed.
The Board then proceeded to consider annual purchase
agreements for meters, lamps and transformers and on recommend-
ation of Superintendent J. A. Henning, the following motions
were made and unanimously concurred in: -
(1) On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee
Mettler, the President was authorized to sign a sales agreement
with General Electric Company for the purchase of Mazda lamps.
(2) On motion or Trustee Hale, Seconded by Trustee
Shattuck the President was authorized to sign a sales agreement
with General Electric Company for the Purchase of transformers.
(3) On motion of Trustee Shattuck,seconded by Trustee
Hale, the President was authorized to sign a sales agreement
with A.F.Blecksmith as District Sales Agent of Duncan Electric
Company for the purchase of watt hour meters.
Bills, including semi-monthly payroils,in the amount
of $9479.32 were allowed as audited on notion of Trustee 3.ettler,
seconded by Trustee Shattuck

At the instance of Trustee Shattuck, the Board proceeded
to.a discussion of the proper ren^edy for reported sewer trouble
in the alleys in Block 15, SacramenCl0-School-Pine and Elm Streets
considering the advisability of a new sewer north and south
with outfall to the Hutchins Street main line through a propos-
ed new enlP
arged line in the alley between Elm and ine Street.
I'r.J.A.Henning, recommended that if any new Rork .vas installed,
that it be done by leading the discharge lire south to the alley
in Block 18 and t:ence westerly on this alley to Hutchins Street.
The matter was referred to the City Engineer and. Superinten-
dent Henning for further investigation and report.
On motion of Trustee Hale the Board adjourned to the
date and hour of their next regular meeting.
