Monlay, November 2,1925 This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 5.10 PAL on the date first above written, Trustees Hale, Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present,. none absent. The Clerk retorted that through oversight he had neglect- ed to type the minutes of the meeting of October 19th and at the order of the President, this order of business was passed. Under the head of public Hearings, Fire Chief E.H.Stark notified the Board that sore of the older fire hose showed marked signs of deterioration and that he had notified the Clerk to obtain options on two lots of hose so as to forestall an impending rise in prices. The matter was referred to Com- mittee of the ;hole. Traffic Officer C.O.Jackson submitted a list of signs required by state law that should be erected in the residence and business districts. The Clerk reported that the California Automobile Associstion would erect and maintain these signs for a period of fi4e years at a cost of $4.00 per sign. The Clerk was directed to obtain a price from the National Auto- mobile Club for similar signs and the entire matter was referred to the Committee on Public Health and Safety. Ir. the furtherance of proceedings toward securing the dis- missal of a suit pending in the Federal Courts wherin South- ern Pacific Company seeks to clear title to portions of sever- al streets bordering and crossing its main line richt of way, City Attorney Glenn West presented two separate agreements to be executed by the City and on motion of Trustee Hale, exec- ution of the agreements was authorized and directed by the pass- age of Resolutions No. 484 and No. 485 by the following vote:- AYr,S: Trustees Hale, Shattuck,llettler,Roach and Spooner. (True copies of these resolutions appear at page No.152 et seq of these minutes) ORDINANCE NO. 151 - "ORDINANCE GRANTING TO CENTRAL PACIF- IC RAIL;yAY COMPANY, A UTAH CORPORATION, AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC 0012ANY, A HENTUCKY CORPORATION THE FRANCHISE, RIGBT AND PRIV- ILIDGE TO LAY DOWN CONSTRUCT, DECONSTRUCT RENEW MAINTAIN AND ORATE RAILROAD SPUR OR SIDE TRACKS TO R d LOCAL INDUSTRIES UPON ALONG AND ACROSS MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF LODI COUNTY OF Br , ENJLODIIDENUESTATE AND AIS+' NAOSTREtl! AS AT NOW PLATTEDSAND SHOW ON THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF SAID CITY OF LODI . " (min of ::ov.2-conc.) 151 Zas introduced on motion of Trustee Roach and by the same motion, laid over for not less than five days. Unanimously carried. On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Roach, bills as audited in the amount of $8,436.03 were allowed and ordered paid. On recommendation of Cormittee of the whole and at the motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach, the Clerk was directed to exercise the options obtained by him under date of October 5th., and October 19th -for the purchase of fire hose.
