Monday, August 3 - 1925
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called
to order at 8 o'clock P.M. on the above date, Trustees Hale,
Mettler, Roach and Shattuck present. On motion of Trustee Hale,
seconded by Trustee Roach, Trustee Shattuck was unanimously
elected President of the Board in the absence of President
Spooner. The Clerk being also absent, Trustee Mettler was
chosen Clerk and the Board proceeded with the regular order
of business.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 20th. were
read, approved without correction and so endorsed by the Pres-
ident.
Cecil Perrin, a local manufacturer of concrete lighting
standards, appeared in protest against the elimination of his
type of standards from the petitions for the formation of a
lighting district in the Lodi Barnhart Tract as now being circ-
ulated by representatives of the Marbelite Corporation. No action
taken as the petitions had not as yet been filed.
Velrose Ice Cream Company applied by letter for permit
to install an eight hundred gallon gasoline storage tank and
pump on. Garfield Street near Oak Street and the same was granted.
The appraisers a3pointed by the Board July 20th to re -value
the buildings owned by the City submitted their report as follows: -
Fire Engine House #2 5,000.00
Garage Labaratory at S.D.Plant 1,500.00
Dwelling at save location 3,400.00
Public Library 21,000.00
Municipal Baths 13,000.00
City Hall 11,000.00
?ower House. 2,200.00
City Jail 1,600:00
Garage, tool house & shed 1,400.00
Street Department Tool House 300.00
Total replacement value $ 60,400.00
No action was taken on the report, the matter of re -insur-
ance being in the hands of the City Clerk for recommendation.
Reports of the City Marshal and Special Officer Jackson
were read and ordered filed.
The application of John Klinger for permission to erect
an oil storage shed at 354 E. Oak Street was referred to the Fire
Chief for investigation.
Six building permits at a total estimated cost of $5,550.00
were allowed.

A representative of a company manufacturing pressed
steel markers for traffic lines appeared before the Board
and exhibited his product; the matter was laid over until
the next meeting.
- On motion. of Trustee male, seconded by Trustee Roach,
bills as audited in the amo+ant of $8,283.32 were allowed and
ordered paid.
On motion of Trustee Mettler, the Board adjourned until
the date of their next regular meeting.
