City Hall City of Lodi
Monday,July 6-1925.
This regular meeting of the Board. of Trustees of the
City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8.30
o'clock P.M.; Trustees Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner
present; Trustee Hale absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June 15th were
read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
_ublic Hearings and Protests:
Fate Hein again appeared in furtherance of his applic-
ation for water service on South Central Avenue but the
matter was again held in abeyance awaiting the giving of
deeds to streets necessary to insure a proper subdivision
of the lands in blocks 39, 40 and 41 of the Lodi Barnhart
Tract. Trustee Mettler reported favorable progress in
this regard, having met with but few refusals to deed.
Special Police Officer Clyde 0. Jackson appeared
before the Board bathe matter of the continuance of his
employment as traffic officer; On motion. of Trustee
Shattuck, Mr. Jackson's appointment was continued indef-
initely, that is, he is to serve on the same conditions
as when first employed and at the pleasure of the Board.
In the matter_of application for inclusion in the
County Library System, the Board adopted the following
- RESOLUTION -
RSOLVED: That the Clerk of this Board be, and he is
hereby directedto inform the honorable Board of Supervisors
of San Joaquin County, that this Board desires to be includ-
ed in the County Library System under the "Contract System"
as atresent, and not otherwise; and that this Board hereby
requests that a reasonable amount for this service be inc-
luded in. the County Budget for the next fiscal year.
The report of City Icarshal Christesen for the month
of June was read and ordered filed, likewise the report of
Special Traffic Officer Jackson for the same period.
Applications from five various auditing concerns were
read and ordered filed; the same having to do with auditing
the City's books for the past two years.

A communication from the City -Planning Comission, rec-
cumiiending the immediate opening of Church Street south was
also ordered filed.
The annual report, accompanied by inventory of apparatus,
-. of -the Secretary and Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department
was read at length and ordered to the files.
ORDINANCE NO. 149 : AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE
CITY NTARSHAL AND EX -OFFICIO SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS AND REP-
EALING ORDINANCE NO. 140 AS PASSED AND ADOPTED MAY 7TH.,1923.
having been introduced June 15th.,1925 was introduced for pas -
passage and on roll call was finally adopted and ordered to
print by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Mett1er,Shattuck, Roach and Spooner.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustee Hale.-
On
ale.On motion of Trustee Shattuck, seconded by Trustee Roach,
City Marshal Christesem was granted six weeks leave of absence
without pay, the same to begin at the termination of his
vacation period on the 13th inst.
Bills as audited in the amount of $10,733.08 were
allowed and ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shattuck,
seconded by Trustee Hoach.
On motion of Trustee Shattuck, the Board adjourned.
